After three horrible training days, I'm finally alone in my room. Tomorrow is the private training, I need to show what I can do. But the problem is that I can't do anything. Well, I can swim, but that's the only thing. I don't think the Gamemakers will like it if I just swim laps in the pool. I yawn and lay down on my bed. Then I hear two knocks on my door. Who could that be this late? 'Yes?' I say letting the person know he or she can come in. The door opens slowly, I could have guessed it would be Finnick. 'Finn what are you doing here this late?' I ask him. He closes the door behind him and walks towards the bed. He sits down next to me. 'I just wanted to make sure you're okay.' He says with a soft voice. My heart makes a jump and I smile. 'As okay as I can be when I'm almost going to get killed.' Finnick turns his head away and sighs. 'You're not going to get killed. Not when I'm still alive.' He grabs both of my hands and stares into my eyes. 'Tomorrow you will do a great private training, I believe in you.' He says while he places one of his hands on my cheek. 'I will try.' Is all I can say. Softly I press my lips against his and he answers my kiss. I can't help it but blush as Finnick gently pushes me down so I'm lying on my back. His kiss becomes more roughly and I follow his lead. My heart starts to pound like an idiot. What's happening?! He places one hand on my hip while he continues kissing me.
'Annie?!' I hear a voice scream. Quickly I push Finnick off of me and with wide open eyes I stare at the person at the door. Finnick stands up quickly and his mouth opens like he's going to say something, but then closes again. 'Felix?' I ask in disbelieve. He shakes his head and leaves the room again, not even saying a thing. He slams the door behind him and then there's nothing but silence. Finnick looks at me and I try to avoid his eyes. 'That was... Unexpected.' He says surprised. 'Felix will think you will only help me. This is horrible.' I whisper still not looking at Finnick. 'He won't think that, I will talk to him tomorrow. Go catch some sleep Angel.' He says while he walks to the door. Just before he leaves he looks over his shoulder, but then goes. The door closes behind him.
I'm sitting next to Felix, it's my turn to show my skills to the Gamemakers. The whole day it has felt weird between me and Felix, I think he doesn't like me anymore. 'Felix?' I whisper, knowing it's not the right time to start this conversation. 'What?' He asks acting to be uninterested. 'I'm sorry.' I whisper again.
'Annie Cresta, District four.' A robotic voice sounds through the room. I stand up and don't turn around again. The metalic door opens in front of me and I walk into the room, feeling the door closing behind me. I walk to the middle of the room, I can see the Gamemakers. They seem to be paying attention to me, I'm one of the first, that should be the reason. I look up at them and try to hide the shiver in my voice. 'Annie Cresta, District four.' My hands are shaking, I hope they don't notice. I've practiced all this stuff for my whole life, but still I can't do anything. Doubting I head to the axe throwing station. I grab an axe and hold it tightly. With lots of power I slam it at the dummy in front of me. I don't know how, but somehow I chopped it's head off. Careful I place the axe back on the standard. I wipe some sweat of my forehead. What else can I do? Oh right! Swimming! I quickly run towards the big pool in the room. Without even thinking about changing, I make a perfect dive into the pool. The water is cold, but I go on. I swim a few laps and get out of the pool then. I look at the Gamemakers, they seem pretty bored.
'Thank you Annie, we've seen enough, you can leave now.'
