The next morning I wake up by the sun that shines into my eyes. Seven o' clock, early... It's weekend and my mother made me see Finnick today. When I turn around in my bed, a sharp pain goes through my arm. I look at my arm and see it's bruised really badly. Slowly I stand up and put on the same blue dress as I was wearing yesterday. I let my long brown hair hang loose today. I leave my room, secretly hoping my mother won't be there. I sigh in relieve when I don't see her, she really scared me yesterday. I thought she was going to kill me. But of course she doesn't, I need to survive the Hunger Games before she can kill me herself. What a witch...
I leave my house quickly and start running, running to safety, running to Finnick. No one in whole district four is awake yet. Everyone is still sleeping. I wonder if Finnick is awake yet... I bet he is, he would meet me at eight. I think it's around half past seven now. I'm walking now, and I can already see the gate. And the boy behind it. 'Annie.' He whispers while he stares at me. I start running and stop just before the gate. 'Can we open this thing?' I ask him while I stare at the gate. 'Yes, I have the key.' He says while he opens it. Now nothing is in our way. Just a meter between us. He opens his arms for me and I run into them. He holds me tightly and I start to cry. 'Finnick, I missed you so much.' He goes with his hand through my hair. 'You have no idea how much I missed you Annie.' He says while his eyes start to water too. We let go of the hug and Finnick stares at my arm. 'Your arm it's-' I put my hand up to stop him from talking. 'I know, my mum got pretty angry at me.' He grabs my hands in his. 'I'm so sorry, it was all my fault. If I wouldn't have looked for you this wouldn't have happened.' I shake my head. 'I looked for you, so don't blame it on yourself.' He puts his arms around me again. 'We looked for each other, and now we've got to pay for it. But I promise you Annie, you won't die. You won't. You won't even enter that Games. Promise me you won't volunteer. You need to promise me. And if you're mother kicks you out of the house, you can come and live with me.' I smile through my tears. I love him so much. 'I promise.' I say with no single doubt. He smiles back. 'Let's get started on your training then, shall we?'
