It had been eight weeks from the time of Jacobs' injury. It was a long journey getting himself healthy and out of his head. It took him awhile to talk to me about his fears. I really think it helped, talking it out. Today was the day we went to the doctor to get his cast off and to see if he would get the clearance to ride again.

"Are you ready to go, baby?" I ask.

"Yes, I am. So ready to get this off. Ready to get back to work."

"Let's get moving then."

So we head out and soon arrive at the doctor's office. We go in and get checked in and sit down to wait. It wasn't long before we were called back to the exam room.

"Good morning, Mr. Stevens. How are you feeling today?" Dr. Stevens asks as he walks into the exam room.

"I am feeling great. So ready to get this itchy thing off."

"Well let's get you back for those final radiographs and see how we are healing." He leaves the room and we wait for the nurse. She eventually comes in and takes Jacob off to get his radiographs and soon comes back to sit with me. It was another fifteen minutes or so and the doctor comes back in.

"Well, Mr. Stevens you are an amazing healer and everything looks great, so we will get that cast off today. I will send the nurse back in, in just a few moments to take it off."

"Oh, thank heaven. So glad to get back to normal."

"Yes, thank you doctor."

True to the doctor's word, the nurse came back with the cast saw and took it off, and we were soon headed back to the farm.

"Hey doll, I wanted to ask you something."

What's up, baby?"

I was thinking. There is a small rodeo this weekend closeby and I thought it would be a great idea to get back in the saddle to speak, with a small event. It scares me to death, but if I don't do it, I'm afraid I will never get back out there and that scares me even more."

That is all up to you. Are you sure it's not too soon after getting the cast off. I'll support you in everything you do. I know you need to do this."

"Doc said everything was great and I could go back to regular duties."

"Alright, I will be right there cheering you on."

"Thank you, that means so much. I', going to head out to the barn and see if Brad needs anything. I'll be back later."

Alright, I will get lunch ready for you two."

He came over and kissed me on the cheek and headed out to the barn to talk to Brad. I head to the kitchen to fix lunch for the guys.

Jacob's POV

"Hey man, where are you at?" He yells as he walks into the horse barn.

"I'm right here, dude! What are you yelling for?"

"Just checking to see if you need help. Jessica is making lunch so I was coming to grab you."

"Awesome, I see you finally got that cast off."

"Yeah, I also talked to Jess about this weekend. She said she would be there for me, and said I needed to do this. The doctor cleared me this morning."

They head back to the house for lunch. After they eat the guys head back out to the barn to finish the daily chores. Several hours later and they are heading back to the house for dinner. They get almost to the house and Jacob stops Brad.

"Hey man, I think I need your help."

"Okay, what's up?"

"I'm thinking about proposing to Jessica and I need your help picking out the ring and setting it up."

"That's awesome! I would be glad to help. I knew she was the one for you. You have the best version of you ever since you found her again. How about we go tomorrow?"

"That would be great. Now we just need to figure out how I'm gonna do it."

He smiled as he patted Brad on the shoulder and they head into the house. Jessica had dinner ready and was setting the table when they walked in. They all sat down to dinner and discussed the weekend coming up. Brad takes the dishes into the kitchen and cleans up since Jess cooked. We sat and watched a movie but I didn't really pay attention too much to it. I just sat and looked at my love. She was so amazing. She has been through so much since we have known each other. The stuff wither ex, my accident, fears of going back. I can't believe she is still here with me. That first time I laid eyes on her in that club I knew I had to get to know her, and when I let her go in that car, I never thought I would ever see her again. Well, here we are and I am going to propose to her soon. I hope she says yes. I don't think I could see a life without her. I never thought that I would be the one to settle down. Never thought that I would see myself with a family, and I can see that now with her. Now tomorrow we go find the perfect ring.
