Jacob’s point of view

I roll over as the sun hits my eyes and I squint from the pain.  I slowly head to the bathroom to find some pain killers. Leaning against the sink I run my hands through my hair and remember the woman I helped out last night.
She was beautiful, the way her hair fell around her shoulders. The most beautiful shade of red. Her eyes are the most gorgeous shade of emerald green.  I could get lost in those eyes.  Ugh, why didn’t I ask her for her number.  I just got caught up with rescuing her from that jerk, and getting her home safe.  Now I will probably never see her again. I head down stairs to find some breakfast before I head out to check on the horses and livestock.
“You look rough this morning, Jacob.  Are you going to be able to hang to today?”
Brad asked as he turned on the coffee machine and sat at the kitchen island.
“Yeah, don’t worry about me man!  I can handle myself as I pull some eggs and bacon from the fridge to start some breakfast.
“Wow, dude. Just asking a question.  Don’t have to bite my head off.”
“Sorry Brad, just mad at myself.”
“What’s got your jockeys in a bunch?”
“Eh, probably jsut something stupid.  Ran into a girl last night and didn’t get her number and now will never see her again.”
“That’s harsh. Who knows maybe fate will bring her back.  Let’s head out and get this day started.  We need to start training for the next rodeo in a couple months.”
“Alright, let’s get out there.” I say as we head out the door down to the barn.

Jessica’s point of view

“Uggh, my head!” I mutter to myself as I pull the pillow over my head, blocking out the light.  Maybe I should have eaten a little more than I did before we headed out.  I have never been one to be able to drink a lot.
“Hey girl, how ya feelin’ this afternoon?” Crystal walked through the doorway with a glass of water and some aspirin.  She is my lifesaver today.
“Thank god, I love you!  What time is it?” She laughed as she handed it all to me and sat down on the bed next to me.
“It’s about two in the afternoon.  I let you sleep in.  Oh my gosh, Jess!  Did Tony do that to you?” She said as she touched my arm where a deep purple bruise was appearing on my arm.  I look down at my arm.
“Apparently so.  Why did he turn into such a jerk?  I loved him so much, and thought he loved me in return.  I am such a bad judge of character.” I threw my head in my hands and started crying.  Crystal threw her arms around me and hugged me.
“Girl, sometimes they can hide so well, like a snake in the grass.”
“It just hurts, ya know?”
“Yes, girl, I do.  So how about that hot guy last night.  Knight in shining armor, huh?”
“Oh my gosh, I totally forgot about that. How sweet was that.  Too bad I started getting sick.  He didn’t even ask for my number.”
“Who knows, maybe fate will work and you will see him again?
Yeah, fate doesn’t work well with me, I thought to myself.  I hope that someday I see him again. I want to at least thank him for coming to my rescue.  Who knows what could have happened with Tony if he hadn’t stepped in.
“So how about  a movie and junk food day?” Crystal asked as we headed downstairs.
“Sounds good to me.  How about pizza?”
“Great, You choose the movies and I’ll order pizza.” she went to grab her phone and called to order. We spent the rest of the afternoon and into the evening watching movies and eating pizza.  I love these times with my bestie, just  spending time with her, whatever we do.  She always knows what kind of hang time I need and will drop anything if I need her to.  She left later in the evening and I cleaned up and headed to bed to get ready for the work week.
