Can love be found

Chapter Five

Good morning, girl! Are you ready for some fun?” Crystal asked me as she grabbed a coffee mug and poured herself some coffee.
“I am so ready.  I have been needing something like this. Just to get out and live. I know we have been going out on Saturdays but I was always looking over my shoulder for him. I know I won’t have to be paranoid at the rodeo, because he hated anything like that.”
That would be the reason I had not been around horses in a while because Tony wouldn’t let me.  He hated large animals and didn’t think I should like them either.  I have realized how he has been trying to segregate me from everything I loved and everybody I knew.  I never really saw the signs until now.
“Maybe you could find a cute cowboy?”
‘I’m not looking for something like that, just want to have some fun.”
“You never know!”
She said with a wink and headed upstairs to get ready.  I soon followed her up and  headed to my room to get ready also.  After a while we were both downstairs. 
“Girl, you look hot!

“So do you, let’s get moving.”

We headed out to Crystal’s suv and got on the road to the horse park. Once we got there we found a parking space and then headed into the park. We walked around through some of the vendors and then headed over to the ring to watch the bronco busting.  We had sat and watched the event and after a couple hours we got up to get something to eat and a drink.
“Thank you so much for suggesting this day.  I’m having a lot of fun.”
“And all the eye candy helps too?”
“Hahaha, yes it does.  Let’s head back. I think the calf roping is about to start.” We started to head back to the bleachers and I got an email from the boss.  He had asked me about where a certain file was and apologize for interrupting my day.  I was in the middle of writhing him back when Crystal started talking. I wasn’t paying too much attention.
“Girl, you need to get your nose out of your phone and watch where you are going.”
“I just need to finish this.” As I finish the email, I walk into a wall, which grabs a hold of me before I fall back.
“Woah, there missy.” Just as he says that I look up and see the most beautiful blue eyes I ever saw, and realize it is the dream that rescued me that night.  He holds on to me a little longer than he should as I settle back on to my feet.  Then he realizes who I am too.
“Doll, is it really you?”

Jacob’s point of view
I was standing talking with Brad while we had a break in events.  We were talking about the upcoming bull riding, and someone ran into me.  I grabbed here to keep her from falling down, then she looked up at me and I saw those gorgeous green eyes. There stood my girl, and I couldn’t believe my eyes.  Something I never thought would ever happen.
“Is it really you?”
“Yes, it’s me.  Thank you so much for that night.  You really saved me.  My name is Jessica by the way.”
“You are very welcome. My name is Jacob.  I never thought I would see you again.  Wait, before I mess up again, can I have your number?
“Yes, give me your phone.” she smiled, and I just wanted to do anything I could to keep that smile on her face.  Her face just lit up like the sun, and it took my breath away.
“Oh, I’m being rude.  This is my friend Brad.”
“Nice to finally meet you. He hasn’t shut up about you, and missing his chance.”
I give her my phone and she puts her number in and texts her phone so she has mine. We stand and talk for a while. I don’t want to leave her but I have got to head back to get ready for my event. She is breathtaking, her hair the way it shines in the light.  Her laugh was intoxicating.
“This is my friend Crystal.” she said blushing.
“Hello, Crystal So glad you got her home safe.”
“You welcome.  Nice to meet you too.” she said as she walked up to Brad.  He smiles and takes her hand to kiss her knuckles.  He is such a ladies man.
“We’ve got to head back and get ready for our event. Are you going to be here later?”
“We are here all day.  What is your event?
“Bull Riding”
“Oh, you like a little danger?”
“A little, I have been doing this since I was a kid. I learned it from my dad.  I am second generation. I run my dad's ranch in Statham.”
“Wow, that’s pretty awesome.  What do you have on that ranch?”
“We have a lot of cows and several horses. Maybe you could come out and see it some time?”
“Maybe, I might like that.”
“Alright, we gotta run. I’ll come back out here, after.”
I can’t help myself. I give her a quick kiss on the cheek and we head back to get ready.
