Chapter Eleven

Jacob's pov

This is what I dreamed about. Life out in the country, sitting by a bonfire with my woman in my arms. How could it get any better? I know how it could be better but that's all up to her. I will wait as long as it takes for her. She is it for me. There will never be another.

"Jacob, I feel like I can tell you why I'm afraid."

"If you're ready, I am all ears." I tell her as I hug her tight.

"The man that you rescued me from was my ex. He cheated on me. We lived together for a while and he lied about everything. Why he came home late. The makeup on his collar. Then one day he just up and left. He left a note on my pillow and I didn't see him again until that night. It's so hard for me to trust so soon."

We sit for a little longer.

"Are you going to stay tonight? You can stay in the other room. I just don't want you driving home late."

"Yes, I will stay. Could I stay with you in your room?"

"I would love that more than anything. Let's head in. It's getting late."

We head inside and upstairs. She goes to the other room to change and soon comes back in. I am already under the covers, and I raise them so she can get in and she snuggles back into me.
