Can love be found

Chapter Twenty four

We are sitting down for breakfast the next morning. I was thinking to myself that I needed to go home since Jacob had healed and I wanted to tell Crystal face to face about the good news. I hated to leave Jacob because I had gotten so used to him being around. I loved going to bed at night with him and waking up with him in the morning. I also need to go into work. I haven't been to the office in a couple months and I kinda missed it.

"Babe, I think it is time for me to go back home. I need to go back to the office and I also need to talk to Crystal."

"Are you sure that is what you want? I will miss you but if you want to go home, then I won't stop you."

"I don't want to leave you, but I have got to do this."

"When you are ready, I would like for you to move in with me. I have become accustomed to you being here with me."

I get up and straddle his lap and kiss his lips.

"Nothing would make me happier. I hate being away from you, but there are things I need to get settled at home. My job for one. That will be a long drive for me, and I don't know if it will be worth it."

"Doll, you do what you need to do. I make enough here that you wouldn't have to work."

"Thank you, babe, but i wouldn't feel right not working."

We sat at the table for a while, talking about our future together. It's so amazing. I never thought I would ever be engaged to a wonderful man like him.

"So I was going to head out later this afternoon. I don't want to leave but I need to. I also need to talk to Crystal about the wedding or she will kill me."

"Alright(chuckling), if you really need to. I hate that you are going. I know it's something you need to do."

"I love you, cowboy."

"I love you too, doll."

I clean up from breakfast and prepare lunch for when the guys are ready and pack up most of my stuff. I leave some because I know I will be back on the weekends. I head out to the barn to let Jacob know I will be headed out.

"Alright, love. You be careful driving home, and call me when you get there."

"I will. I already made lunch for you when y'all are ready."

"Thanks, Jess. You are too good for us." I hear Brad say from down the hall.

"I know, right? Be safe, doll, talk to you soon."

He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me like he would never see me again. I headed out as he disappeared from my rear view mirror. This hurts, but I will see him again soon. Eventually I was at my house. I grabbed my things and headed inside. It didn't feel like home anymore. My home was with Jacob and I already missed him.

"Hey, girl! You home?"

"Yes, I'm in the kitchen. Why are you here? I thought you were shacked up with lover boy?" She asked.

"He is finally healed and I needed to get back to the office. Besides I have some news." I say as I hold up my left hand. As I walk into the kitchen she sees my hand and starts to squeal as she runs to me and gives me a big hug. She pulls back from me and is crying.

"Oh my! When did this happen?"

Yesterday, It was so romantic. He had a whole setup in his backyard with a blanket, pillows and candles. He had a cooked dinner and dessert. I don't know how he did it. It was such a surprise. So romantic!"
"Oh my gosh! I am so happy for you!"

"Thanks, girl. I wanted to ask you if you would be my maid of honor?"

"Absolutely!"
