Over the next few months things had settled down, both Jessica and Crystal worked their jobs and would hang out on the weekends together.  Some Saturdays they would head downtown to their favorite club and Jessica would hope to see the man again.  She never saw him but she didn’t think fate would be true.  Nothing good ever happened for her, so she thought.  Her heart began to heal and soon Tony didn't hold a place in her head either. It was Saturday afternoon when Jessica heard the doorbell go off.

Jessica’s point of view
“Hey girl!  Where are you?” Crystal called as she came in the front door with Pizza and beer.
“I'm in the living room. Come on in!”
“I brought our favorite junk food!”
“Yeah!” she plops herself down next to me after placing everything on the coffee table.
“So, a friend told me the rodeo will be in Conyers this weekend.  Do you want to go?” Crystal asked with a mouthful of pizza.
“I haven’t been to a rodeo in forever.  That would be fun.  Let’s do it!”
“You do know we have to go shopping for this, right?”
“Of course, We can't go without having a new outfit.” Jessica giggled as she looked through her Netflix account for a movie, grabbing a slice of pizza.
“Good thing I brought a bag just in case we were gonna do something tomorrow.”
“You always bring a bag when you come over!  Hahaha” We watched a couple more movies and both decided to head to bed before we fell asleep on the couch.  The next morning I head into the spare room where Crystal is.
“Hey girl! Time to get up.  We gotta go shoppin’!”
“Girl, why are you so chipper this morning?”
“You know I love shopping.  Now get up and let’s get some breakfast.
“Alright, I’m getting up.” We head downstairs and head to the kitchen to fix breakfast.  I fixed some pancakes and sausage and started the coffee pot.
“Next week is going to be so fun.  I haven’t been to a rodeo in so long.  I miss being around horses.”
“I’m just going for the hot cowboys!” Crystal says as she wiggles her eyebrows.
“Of course you would.” I laughed as I ate my breakfast.  Once we were done we cleaned up, headed upstairs to get ready, then headed out to do some shopping.  We headed out to the local western wear store and headed inside.  We spent about an hour or so in the store.  Trying on outfits and new boots. Well, I did need new boots.  I haven’t had a good pair of cowboy boots and I do love me some boots.
“Jess, that looks so cute on you.  You definitely need to get both of those.”
“Alright, and those look great on you too.”
Well, let’s get these and head out.” We purchased our items and then headed to Starbucks for some coffee.
“We are gonna look hot this weekend.  I can’t wait to see all the yummy cowboys.” Crystal laughs.
“I should have known that’s what you were going for.  You can’t go very long without the D.”
“You’re right, and it’s been way too long.” We both start laughing, and head back to my car.  Then we head back to my house.  Crystal hung around with me for a few more hours.  We talked more about this weekend and when she was going to be back here on Saturday.
“Alright girl, I'm gonna head home.  I will talk to you later in the week.”
“You know you are welcome to stay here as long as you like.  I could use a roomy and I know you want to get back out of your parents house.”
“Thanks girl.  I will think about it.  I could come spend the week for now since we will be hanging out this weekend.  I will see you tomorrow.” She headed out the door and I went to change into my pj’s and sit down on the couch to relax for bed. Soon I felt my eyelids getting heavy and decided to head for bed. The next morning I get up and get ready to start the week.  I start my morning routine and head into work.  Placing my stuff on my desk, I head into my boss’ office to go over the things for the day.
“Good morning, Mr. Johnston.  Here is your coffee and the files you requested.’
“Thank you dear.  How are you doing today?”
“I am doing much better, thank you. Crystal has been hanging out with me and this weekend we are going to the rodeo.”
“I am glad to hear that.  It’s wonderful that you have a good friend to help you through these dark days.  Y'all have fun this weekend. Can you take this contract and type it up for Mrs. Clark for her appointment this afternoon, and let me know when Mr. Adams is here.”
“Absolutely, thank you for your concern also.”
“You are like a daughter to me. I will always worry about you.
“Thank you.” I say as I head back to my desk to get work on the contract.  When Mr. Adams arrives, I let my boss know he is here and lead him to his office.  The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. And I head out the door at five. Pulling up to the driveway, I see Crystal leaning against her car.
“Hey Crystal, so glad you decided to stay.  It will be like the old days in college.”
“Oh, I hope not.  Too many drunken nights and next day hangovers.”
I laugh as we get out of our cars and I help her bring her bags in. It’s going to be so nice to have Crystal here with me.  I was getting a little lonely by myself.  She used to live with me but Tony made her leave after he moved in.  He said he wanted just us, but I knew he didn’t like her.  The rest of the week she got settled back in.  It was soon Saturday and we got up and started getting ready for the rodeo.
