Jacob's POV

It was another thirty minutes or so and we were home. I parked the truck and got out to grab my stuff out of the back. We headed into the house and I put my things in my room. I then sit down and call my doll. It doesn't take her too long to answer. I know I just talked to her a little while ago, but her voice is music to my ears.

"Hello, there. So I guess you are finally home?" She asks as she answers.

"Yes, doll. We just arrived a few minutes ago. Just wanted to let you know we are safe."

"I am glad you called and I know you are safe."

"I hate that you live so far from me. I won't get to see you till this weekend. Am I being too bold?"

"No, you are not. I will miss you too. I kinda like having you around."

"You do, huh?"

"Maybe just a little?" She laughed and it just set my body on fire. It sent my thoughts down a dirty road.

"How about you come up here this weekend. You could even spend the night if you like. Although I would love it if you did. We even have a spare room you could stay in so you don't have to drive home late."

"I kinda like that idea. We will see how it goes if I stay."

"That sounds good. I will send you my address, and I will see you Saturday morning. Rest doll, and I will talk to you later. Have to take care of my animals."

"Alright, then you rest too. You had a rough weekend, and again take care of that hand. I will see you this weekend."

We hang up, and I call for Brad and we head out to do the evening chores. The weekend help has done most of the work for us, which was helpful for us so we finished up, closed up the barn and headed back in for a late dinner and then headed to our rooms to get some sleep. I send my doll a quick message and she sends one back.

Text- (Good night doll, sweet dreams. Talk to you tomorrow.)

Jessica's POV

I hear my alarm go off and roll over to turn it off. I slowly roll out of bed and head into the kitchen to start the coffee pot. As I head into the kitchen I see that Crystal is already there and has already started the pot and making breakfast.

"Oh, how I missed having a roommate. It's nice not having to always start breakfast, thank you."

"No problem. It's nice not having to deal with my parents and I thank you for that." She laughs as she hands me a mug of coffee and I take a sip. She always knows how I like it. We sit and eat then head back to get ready for the day. I finish getting ready and tell Crystal I am leaving and head into work.

"Good morning, Mr. Johnston. I hope you had a nice weekend." I say as I pass by his office on the way to my own.

"I had a very nice weekend, thank you. The wife and I spent it at the lake house, just the two of us. How was yours?"

"We had a blast at the rodeo. It was so much fun."

"Well, I'm glad you had fun. You look like your old self again."

"Thank you, Mr. Johnston. I feel like my old self again. Well, I better get to work. My boss might get mad if I'm slacking off."

"Haha, alright. Get to work, I have a few contracts for you to type up. I will bring them to you later."

I head into my office to start the day. The next several days were busy and I didn't have much time to think about this weekend. Soon it was Friday and I was headed home from a long day. I soon arrived home and walked in and the house smelled amazing. It sure was nice having a roommate. It was great not having to cook every night. After dinner we sat and watched TV together discussing our day.

"Jacob invited me up to his house this weekend."

"That's great! I am so glad you two are getting along. I am happy to see you happy for once."

"I'm still not totally sure about him though."

"Honey, that man is so into you, it's crazy."

"I just don't want to get hurt again."

"Oh, honey. I don't think that will happen."

"We will see. I'm gonna head up to bed."

"Alright, you need to rest up for this weekend."

I laugh as I head up to bed. As I get into bed I hear my phone ring.

"Can't wait until you see me tomorrow?"

"No, just needed to hear your voice. I was getting nervous that you weren't going to show."

"No, I'm definitely going to be there. I have been waiting all week."

"You have, huh?

"Yes, I have missed you. I also can't wait to be out in the country. I am more at home out there."

"That's good to hear. I will see you in the morning. Good night, doll, and I will see you in the morning."

"Good night, cowboy. Sweet dreams. See you in the morning."
