I was walking down the uneven, gravel streets of Tulsa, on my way to meet up with my partner in crime. I lit up a cancer stick, taking a puff every little while. I don't know why I smoke these things, one day I'm not going to be able to fight the socs anymore. I have a bit of a reputation, I didn't murder anyone I just don't like doing anything the legal way, it's more fun that way. I could see the lot now, with its little-to-no trees and a few battered up seats. I wasn't all that far from the seats now, I could see a person leaning back blowing smoke rings out of his mouth.
"Y/N What took you so damn long," He said not looking at me.
"Well, Dally that's a nice way to greet your best friend," I replied snarkily.
"You'll be fine, now let's get going,"
"You never told me where we're going, for all I know you could be leading me to a bunch of socs,"
"Now why would I do that?"
"Alterier motives, I assume,"
"I'm not that mean," He said, other than his friend Johnny, I think that's his name, I've been the only one he has a soft spot for. He's not that mean once you break him down a little.
After a few minutes of walking, I spoke up, "Still not gonna tell me?"
"We're almost there, you'll find out soon enough,"
I sighed, where could he be taking me? We walk up to a small house, with a gate surrounding it. Dally opened the gate and let me walk past him, he closed the gate.
"This is the Curtis house, you know the gang I mention sometimes?" Dally questions. I nod. "This is where we all hang out, I want you to meet them,"
"Who's all in this gang?" I ask.
"Well, there's the Curtis brothers, Ponyboy, Sodapop and Darry. Two-bit, Keith actually, no one calls him that though. There's also Steve and Johnny,"
"You've talked about Johnny before, but how come you've never mentioned the rest of 'em?"
"You've never really brought up the topic of other friends before," He shrugged. "Let's go inside, they've been waiting to meet you."
Dally opened the door to the small house without knocking, we walked into a living room filled with teenage boys. I looked over the room. Two of the boys on the couch looked familiar, I think they worked at the DX. One of them was really handsome, like a movie star, and the other one looked pretty tough. Another guy, who looked the oldest and adult-like, was sitting in the chair reading a newspaper. There was a guy in a Mickey Mouse shirt, sitting on the floor with a piece of cake and a bottle of beer, watching Mickey on the TV. My eyes focused on two boys on the couch, one of them looked pretty young, he was reading a book, "Gone with the Wind" specifically. The last boy in the room was sitting with the other young boy, he was really cute with his tan skin and dark, greased hair and dark eyes. I could feel my heart beating faster and I didn't know why. He had a scar on his cheek and his expression reminded me of a sad puppy dog.
"Guys, this is my friend, Y/N,"
"Is friend all I'm being reduced to?" I snap back. I put a hand to my chest, pretending to be hurt.
"Oh God, it's a female Dally," The guy on the floor said, rolling his eyes and laughing.
The guy reading the newspaper stood up, "You must be the girl Dally talks about, I'm Darry," He holds out his hand and shakes it, "Nice to meet you, Darry." I turn to Dally,
"So, you talk about me, I'm flattered," I say.
"One more comment from you," He says through gritted teeth.
I cut him off, "What might the rest of your names be?"
The handsome boy was Sodapop, the tough-looking one being Steve. The drunk one on the floor was Two-Bit and the boy reading the book was Ponyboy.
Then I find out the cute boys name,
Johnny
