I woke up, the phone ringing loudly in the living room.
"I'll get it," Johnny got up, left the room and grabbed the phone.
I heard him say "hello" .... "Yes she is".... "I'll call her" and then a "Y/N! Mr. Shimbley from the Record store wants to talk to you!" I say straight up and and rushed to the phone
"Hello Mr. Shimbley"
"Please call me Nick"
"Hello Nick"
"I just wanted to let you know that Sam talked to me about hiring you and I believe that you would make a perfect fit for our store"
"Thank you so much!" I exclaimed
"I just have a few things to go over at the store, if you could please come at 10"
"Ok, I will be there. Thank you!"
"Yup, see you then"
"For sure" I said and he hung up.
I glance over at the clock and realize it's 9:15. I have to hurry. I run to my room and take off my clothes quick. I look up into the mirror.
"OH SHIT, Johnny Im sorry. I didn't realize you were in here" he's looking at the ground with a blush spread across his whole face.
"um, i-it's ok y/n, it's my fault really"
"No I'm sorry it's my fault, besides I don't care if you see me in my underwear."
I slipped on some jeans and the nicest shirt I had. Which still wasn't the best but it was better than most of the shirts I have. I brushed my hair and put on some light makeup and threw on my sneakers.
"Bye Johnny, wish me luck" I kissed him quickly.
"Good luck. Want to go to the nightly double after your shift?"
"Sure. I'll meet you back here after."

Training went pretty well and I had to assure him that I wouldn't cause any trouble at work because I'm friends with Dally. Also I couldn't show up to work drunk, which was a given. I headed back home around 5, once I got back there Darry was sitting on the couch.
"How did work go, kiddo?" He asked. I didn't like that nickname but coming from Darry it was pretty endearing.
"Good, I learned a lot but I promised that Dally or I wouldn't cause any trouble."
"Makes sense. What are your plans for the night?"
"Johnny and I are gonna grab some fries and hamburger and then go to the nightly double."
Out of nowhere Ponyboy walks into the room.
"Can I come to the nightly double with y'all?"
"You can't third wheel y/n and Johnnys date, kid" Darry said.
"Naw Darry, it's all right. I don't think Johnny would mind."
Ponyboy smiled.
"Fine, you can go, but make sure you guys are all back after the movie is over."
"Got it"

I got ready and before I knew it Johnny was at the door. We went out for supper, courtesy of a spare car Dally had borrowed from Buck. After milkshakes we went back to the Curtis house to chill before heading to the nightly double. Dally was there.

"Hello, y/n, where might y'all be going tonight?" He said with a wink.
"Come on Dally, nothing like that." I said.
"I'm just teasin'" he said.
"Ponyboy hurry up!" Darry said.
"COMING!" He shouted. When he came out of his and Soda's room. His hair was slicked all nice like and he had on his leather jacket, his tough looking one. I bet he has a girl there. I wasn't going to say anything tho.
Dally was up standing by Johnny, whispering something in his ear. Then he slipped something into Johnnys pocket. A bright pink blush spread across Johnny's face. What was Dally up to?

After that we said our farewells for the meantime and headed to the movies.

We parked at the back. About 15-minutes into some beach-party movie Pony said;
"I'll go get some snacks, don't worry I have some money."
"Oh ok then, thanks Pony" I said.
"Thanks," Johnny said.

After he left Johnny and I sat watching the movie. I looked over at the concession stand and I could see a shadow alongside the building. I decided to go check.
"I'll be back right away." I said.
Sure enough Ponyboy was heavily kissing a girl, but not just any girl. Cherry god Damn Valance. I knew he took a liking to her. I left him alone and returned to Johnny.
"Pony is kissing Cherry. So I'm guessing he won't be back until later." I said.
"Oh alright." Johnny said.

About five minutes later Johnny and I held hands. I looked over at him and we made eye contact. There was something there that hadn't been there before...
