Two-bit and I headed off the hospital, I was nervous but also excited. Every time I see Johnny my stomach does backflips. Dally seems to be ok with us, he actually seems happy that Johnny has someone.

"Hey Y/N, you ok?" Two asks. I must have zoned out.

"Oh yeah I'm fine, I just hope Johnny's ok.

After a few more minutes of walking, we made it to the hospital. We walked in, I could smell cleaning products.

"Um, excuse me miss," I grab the attention of a nurse nearby.

"Yes?" She replies.

"Do you know where Johhny Cade's room might be?"

"103," she says.

"Thank you!!" I run to the room as fast as I can. I opened the door to see Johnny, sitting on his bed with his small bag on the floor.

"Johnny!" I run up to him and give him a big hug.

"Guess what, the doctors are letting me out early!"

"That's great news! What do you say we go back to the Curtis place and have some Coke and cake?"

"That sounds really good." He said.

"Are you allowed to go now?" Two asks."

"Yup!" he says a big smile plastered on his face.

He grabbed his bag and we walked back to the Curtis house. When we got there I basically ran in the door.

"Guy's, Johnny's home!!!" I yell.

Different variations of "Hey Johnny," rang through the living room.

"Johnny sit down, I'll grab you a soda," I say. I've kinda moved into Curtis' guest bedroom, Darry doesn't seem to mind, but I wanna get a job to help pays the bills.

I walk to the kitchen and grab two cold soda's from the freezer. "Anybody else wants one?" I yell.

"I'll have a beer!" Two-bit pipes up.

"Forget it, I'm not helping you become an alcoholic," I grab two pieces of cake and go back to the living room. I hand Johnny a Coke and a piece of cake.

"Thanks, Y/N," he says. I return the thanks with a smile.

After joking and talking for a bit I decide to head out.

"I'll be back later," I say with a wave.

I walk down the street to the record store, I can read, write and count, so I figure that this would work out. That is if they're hiring. I can see it now, it's only about a block or two away from the Curtis house.

I walk into the store and hear a little bell chime. I walk up to the counter, to see a young boy working there.

"Hi, I was just wondering if you were hiring," I say.

"Yes, actually. Want me to set you up an interview?" He asks.

"Please," I reply.

"I'm going to need a name and number," I give him my name and the Curtis house number.

"We can actually do an interview today if you would like, we don't need much," He says.

"That would be perfect actually!"

He asked me a few questions about how often I would be able to work and if I had any past experience.

"Alright, I'll talk to the boss and call you as soon as I get an answer,"

"Thank you so much, have a good day!" I say while walking out the door, it was starting to get dark, I better get back. I walked the block back and walked inside.

Darry was in the kitchen making supper.

"Hey, Y/N, just in time for supper," I sit down at the table as the rest of the gang walks in.

Darry had made, spaghetti, meatballs and garlic bread. It was really good, we all hardly uttered a word while eating.

"Darry, I'll clean up, you need a break,"

"Y/N really, there's no need-" I cut him off. "I insist,"

"Oh well fine,"

After everyone was done I grabbed all the plates and tidied up. I sat on the couch beside Johnny and rested my head on his shoulder. I yawned and could feel my eyes beginning to close.

I opened my eyes to realize that I was being carried to the guest room, Johnny set me down on the bed. He was about to leave.

"Wait, Johnny, take off your jacket and stay," I lifted up the cover and patted the spot next to me. He lied down. I wrapped my arms around him and fell asleep to him stroking my hair.
