It was as if the whole world began to crumble around him. From the moment he ran, til his lungs could no longer, to the moment when he slammed his fists against the cold wooden door, to the moment when Hinata's mother looked at him with sad eyes, shaking her head and handing him letters. It was at that moment that he realized he should have cherished him...

At that moment he realized that nothing lasts forever. Ironic, wasn't it. He thought he was going to die at that moment, but then it stopped. If it stopped something must have happened to Hinata. And something did. From the moment he sat on the ground, letting the flowers sprout, to the moment they wilted and died, as he ran faster than he had ever.

Something was wrong with him and he was right. Something was wrong, and he was now gone. Hinta was gone. His sunshine was gone. He stood in front of the door, shocked, he couldn't believe it until he ran and saw him, the sunshine of his life, his sunflower.

Had it been a week since his death and a proper memorial was given, they had it on the mountain in which he laid. The wind softly rustling through our hair, as the melody of our tear ridden hearts sang, our final goodbye to our sunshine.

I gathered the boys up, gently handing them a letter.

"From Hinata..."

Kageyama gulped, head slumped as he began walking away, down and back to his house. The noise faded, left with the silence of tears, wails, crying. From the distance, you could hear the crying of a little girl.

"Onii-Chan"

How she would scream for her onii-chan, but how he never would respond. How she cried, dug her hands into the dirt, gasping for air, as her mother held her back. The boys continued to walk away from the sight, occasionally turning around to look at the lingering flower.

At that moment Kageyama wanted to take the flower and keep it forever, but he knew that eventually, the sunshine would wilt. He would be gone.

He couldn't wait to open the letter. Had he had known to cherish him, he would. If he had only known that he too was suffering the same fate. If only he had known, maybe they could have gotten through it together.

Head slumped, tears fall, he wailed as he clenched onto his shirt

Head slumped, tears fall, he wailed as he clenched onto his shirt. The spirit of Hinata had leaned against him, wailing as if he was crying for his soul. He had known what it had felt like to love like no other. He knew how it felt, to have his heart be torn into pieces as flowers began to blossom. He knew it all so well because he lost his life to it. Hanahaki.

Kageyama gulped, opening the letter, hands trembling, fingers trailing over the crease of each fresh fold. The ink still slightly wet, as if it was freshly written. As if he knew that it was his last moment. He knew, didn't he?

Kageyama laughed, he laughed harder than he ever had before. His laughs turned into sobs, a cry for help.

BAKAYAMAAAAA!!! You said you'd be the best setter in the world, so be it. I may not be able to be by your side, as your partner, as your friend, but I wish you all the best. I remember saying how I would become the best spiker just like the little giant, and you scoffed. You laughed.

At that moment, I smiled, because that only made me want it to happen more. But, I guess you were right. I could never be the little giant, not at this rate at least. I've got a few hours to live, but I don't know why I didn't say this. But to the stupid setter I really hate, but at the same time would want to date, I love you.

I love you despite your remarks, despite your yelling, telling me "BOKE HINTA BOKE." I love the way you scowl whenever your concentrating, despite that your ever so scary smile. It's cute how you try to seem to look nice, despite failing. I love you, just as much as volleyball. Who am I kidding, I probably love you more than volleyball, because the coolest thing to me is you, the setter, my setter.

Thanks for a great time, Bakayama.

Hinata Shoyo

In the back of his head, lingered the voice of Hinata, shouting the words, which he soon turned to love. "BAKAYAMA!" The sound of his feet hitting the ground, as he jumps. The way they'd goofily race towards the gym.

"Boke...hinata...boke."

How stupid was the shrimp that he'd let his own life go for the mere satisfaction of others. But to him, he knew that he didn't care, because his goal in life was to make everyone happy.

He did, he made everyone happy, even the king. The king who once had been cold had been hit with rays of sunshine. But now the sun is gone, and the heat didn't last. Nothing lasts, is what he figured.

And with that, there it was, a night like no other.

"Boke! Hinata Boke! Hold on tightly!"

"Boke! Hinata Boke! Hold on tightly!"

"Gahhhh Bakayama! Look, Look, it's pretty!"

"Tch, oi shrimp you're going to fall down at this rate."

"But Bakayama look! It's as bright as a star!"

At that moment Kageyama looked at Hinata, the only thing that ran through his mind was, yeah, but nothing shines as bright as you.

He remembered that moment as clear as day. The moment he'll never get back. The moment where he finally loses the grasp of the sunshine he thought he once had.

Nothing lasts forever, your smile, your voice, your laughter. The warmth of your fingertips, or the smell of your softly scented orange hair. Because all things come to an end.
