He smiled softly, as the younger boy ran off into the sunset. He turned back around, saying a few simple words. "I'll see you again, Kuroo-San!"

Kuroo stood there, tears escaping his eyelids, as the promise he received never was fulfilled.

He smiled softly, as he saw the sunshine, upon the mountain, a flower, his flower

He smiled softly, as he saw the sunshine, upon the mountain, a flower, his flower.

"You said' we'd meet again, what happened?"

He looked at the flower with sad eyes. Tears, gently fell, as he tried to keep his composure, he tried so hard to stay happy for him, he tried, and tried, and tried, but he broke.

"Chibi..."

He whimpered.

"YOU SAID WE'D MEET AGAIN!"

His heart pounded, head hurt, he fell onto his knees, as he kneeled down in front of the sunflower.

"You promised...chibi..."

He looked at the flower with sad eyes, sad, cold empty, soulless eyes.

And there he was, the silhouette that shined brighter than no other.

The fallen angel gently caressed Kuroo's face, smiling softly.

"I promised we'd meet again...didn't I?"

But nothing could be heard except for the wailing of his heart, his chest.

Seconds passed, seconds turned to minutes, minutes turned to hours, hours to days, days to weeks, weeks to months.

He laid there on his bed, hand reaching towards the ceiling. All this time, he had been in denial, he didn't want to accept the fact that he was gone.

"H-he said we'd meet again, right?"

His voice trembled, his eyes beady. He hadn't had the energy to move, eat, do anything. He laid in his bed, delusional, wondering when he'd see his sunshine again.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a letter.

"Oh...a letter."

With italics, it wrote 'Kuroo'

He then looked back, digging through his soulless memories, Kageyama handing him a piece of paper, a letter, from him. It was from him.

His heart swelled, eyes became runny with salty teardrops. He gently opened the letter, not wanting to tear it, because it was the last thing from his beloved chibi chan.

A small photo slipped from the envelope, falling onto his chest.

A moment in time that seemed not too far ago

A moment in time that seemed not too far ago. It was a moment where time had stopped. As if everyone stopped and the only thing in sight was him, his chibi, his light, his sunshine. The warmth of the smaller lingered on his fingertips, despite that, his veins ran cold. The heat and body warmth of the smaller disappeared. He disappeared. No longer in existence. He held onto the picture for dear life, reminiscing in the past.

The soft scent of the smaller, hints of orange vanilla. The warmth of his soft pale skin, against the older's rough, calloused hands. The ever so cute contagious giggle that would fill the whole room. The excitement of the smaller, whenever he would spike, how his eyes would sparkle when his hand made contact with the ball.

How everything through his eyes was beautiful. He was beautiful, truly. He truly was beautiful.

Kuroo smiled through soft eyes, as he placed the photo down, his fingers gently unfolding the contents of the letter. His fingers traced the parchment, a soft hint of orange wafted through the air. The messy scribbles of the smaller writing.

Kuroo smiled softly as if the letter carried the presence of him.

Gwahhhhh! Kuroo-San! I told you I'd see you again, and I'm sorry about that. I didn't get to see you again, which is something I regret. I wish I had seen you again, I wish that maybe the world would pull us together through fate, but it's alright. It's too late.

Kuroo-San, the reason you're receiving this letter is that I, Hinata Shoyo am gone from existence. I know, there's really no point, but I hope that you can still remember all the good times we had together. Despite the good and the bad, I hope you persevere through life and find the light.

Although I didn't get to see you again, I hope that in our next life I can make up for it. In our next life, I hope that fate pulls us together, so I can hold your hand and smile at you softly. I hope that in our next lives that I finally have the courage to tell you I love you.

I hope that in our next life that we can be together. But for now, in this life, please live it without me. Live life to the fullest, Kuroo-san. Please, I may not see you again in this life, but I'll meet you in the next. I promise you that.

I will cross oceans to find you, across storms, continents. As long as I get to see you one more time. It's all worth it if I can look at you one last time, smile, and tell you the one thing I didn't get to this life. I will find you, and I will tell you, the three words, I didn't get to. I love you.

Chibi

Kuroo held the letter close to his chest, tears falling. The small fallen angel sat upon his lap, gently wrapping his arms around the older frame. He smiled, gently looking at him.

"I promise in our next life that I'll tell you the three words I couldn't do. I love you, Tetsuro."

But not a sound could be heard. It was alright, the fallen angel had 2 more to go before he could finally rest in peace. The wandering spirit who wouldn't change a thing if he could. He doesn't regret what he's done, but what he does regret is not having the chance to tell them the three words that forever haunt him. Love.
