Third POV.

The whole palace was decorated like a new bride, its grandeur blinding under a thousand shimmering lights. Celebrities, dignitaries, and political elites mingled in opulence. After all, who didn't know the Royal Rajvanshs and Rathods? The media went wild—flashing cameras, hungry reporters, and exclusive interviews flooding every corridor.

Rana Udhav stood at the center of it all, cloaked in royal arrogance. He basked in the limelight like a king returning from war. This grand merger with the Rathods wasn't just a union—it was a coronation. And it had paid off: he was now the Chief Minister of Rajasthan once more. The stage was his. The state was his. The legacy—his to command.

But beneath the surface of celebration, a venomous anxiety coiled inside him.

His son knew.

The encounter with Arjun replayed like a malignant echo in his mind—his furious eyes, his accusations, the truth he spat like fire. One misstep... one whisper from Arjun... and it would all come crashing down. His name. His empire. His carefully manufactured image of loyalty, righteousness, and tradition. All of it, gone in a single scandal.

And all because of her.

That woman had survived when she should have vanished. She had been a mistake—an indulgence. One night of weakness that returned years later like a ghost thirsty for vengeance. He should have snuffed her out the moment she became a threat.

But not anymore.

No more mistakes. No more mercy.

In the privacy of his heavily guarded study, Rana Udhav sipped his whisky slowly, his eyes fixed on the towering portraits of his forefathers. Their gaze seemed to bore into his soul—stern, proud, unforgiving.

"I will not be the failure in this lineage," he thought bitterly.

He picked up the phone and dialed an internal line.

"Call Viraj. Now."

Moments later, the obedient young man entered the room.

Rana didn't even turn. "You remember what I told you days ago?"

Viraj swallowed. "Yes, Bade Papa. That... accident—it was meant for her. But Arjun appeared out of nowhere and took the hit. We didn't anticipate—"

"I don't care what you didn't anticipate," Rana cut in coldly, voice sharp as a blade. "You had one job—to erase a problem. And now that problem has multiplied. Arjun knows. And the moment he speaks, I will be ruined."

Viraj looked up, shocked. "You mean... he knows everything?"

Rana turned then, eyes like black steel. "Every. Damn. Thing."

There was silence. Heavy. Final.

"Finish what you started," Rana said, his tone calm but laced with lethal resolve. "Today. No witnesses. No traces. I want her gone—vanished like she never existed. If you fail again... don't bother returning alive."

Viraj nodded quickly and left, his footsteps echoing down the marble hallway.

Rana leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled, mind racing. He had buried worse sins before. One more soul meant nothing in the grand tapestry of his empire. Sacrifices were necessary for kings.
