Day 14: Write something set 100 years in the future
“What did you find Jaki?” Jemmy asked.
“One of our many-great grandmother’s books.” The dirty blonde replied, flipping through the page. Her twin brother sat next to her.
“Wow. What’s this one about? I love Grandma Harriett’s stories.” Jemmy asked, peering over her shoulder.
“It’s called Gay Boy’s Club. It’s about a bunch of band members she liked in an alternate universe. They’re Boy Scouts on a camping trip and their leaders made the straight boys and the gay boys have separate camping sites and the whole story is about how they get together and what they do.”
“Oh wow. Sometimes I forget that was a thing.”
“Yeah. I don’t understand how people treated gays back then. And for the longest time too!”
“Not just gay people.” Jemmy grimaced. Jaki nodded.
“I know. Grandma’s stories are really nice though. Want me to read this one to you?”
“Of course! I’ll read the next one.”
And there they sat for the rest of the afternoon, laughing at how outdated the information was.
