Day 25: Write 250 words about the color of the walls of the room that your character is in
Harriett’s walls were blue.
One day when Harriett was very young, her and her older sister Jade were given a choice. Their mother asked, “Who would like the red room, and who would like the blue room?” Jade let little Harriett decide, and Harriett chose the blue room. They were stuck in those rooms all day. And, little did they know, they would be stuck in those rooms for longer than they thought.
Harriett’s walls were the color of the sky. They were the color of freedom, which she grew to crave. Freedom from her parents. Freedom from the house. Freedom from that damned room that she was always shut in. It struck something in her. Something big. Little did her parents know, they weren’t stubbing out the fire that was in her, they were igniting it.
One day, she’d be able to touch the sky.
