Day 19

Day 19: Write a story in the form of a top ten list

10. Going to America

Luke never thought that his band would get big enough for them to be able to get a chance to tour in a different country, but he guessed no one ever did. But FEH was going to the US, and they couldn’t be more excited. They packed their things and hopped on a plane, and they were allowed to explore the day after they arrived at their first hotel.

9. Driving to a small town with the guys

They were in a hotel in Hartford, seeing as that’s where their tour would kick-off, but they didn’t want to explore a large town. They figured they’d be seeing enough of it as it was. So, they hopped in the van and drove to a random town. It was small, but not too much so, and they went downtown and parked at the green.

8. Sitting under the tree with her

They had decided to split up, having each wanted to do different things, and Luke went straight to a large willow tree at the edge of the green. He couldn’t tell from far away, but when he was under the drooping branches he saw a lone girl sitting on the bench. She was one of the prettiest girls Luke had seen. She looked over to him, and just as he apologized and made to leave she insisted he say. She said her name was Harriett, and he told her she had a beautiful name. She blushed and said that he had beautiful hair, and he laughed before taking a seat next to her.

7. Letting her show him around

They talked for awhile, and she agreed to show him downtown. She showed him all of the little shops, occasionally going into them and getting some sort of candy, and then they walked a ways and went to a frozen yogurt shop. He insisted on paying as thanks, and in defiance she put on as many toppings into her full cup as she could. He laughed at her childness, and filled his cup in the same manner. They decided to sit back under the tree to eat their goods. They were full when they got halfway through their loot, and he decided she was probably one of the nicest people he could have befriended. She was funny, and witty, and he was beginning to really like her.

6. Starting 20 questions

They started out with the simple ‘getting-to-know-you’ questions, and then it got a little bit deeper. What kind of music do you like, what inspires you, that kind of thing. Then it got to the romantic aspects, and he got up the courage to ask her if she had dated anyone recently. She replied no, and asked if he could change that. He thought about it.

5. Her saying yes to the concert

They had exchanged phone numbers, and he texted her when the concert was and how she could get in backstage with his permission. She had texted him that her parents said it was okay, and he felt oddly happier than he expected. This lead to him recounting his day to Mav, Kane, and Jackson. In detail. Multiple times.

4. The show

A few days later it was the first show of their American tour, and it could not have gone better in their opinion. Everyone rocked out in the crowd, they killed it onstage, banter was had, things were thrown on stage, it was amazing. And then Luke walked backstage when it was all over to see the girl who was quickly becoming one of his favorite people. They had texted and called each other constantly, and he always felt happy at the end of their conversations. She gave him a huge hug, and said that they had done an amazing job. She thanked him for inviting her. He thanked her for coming.

3. The hotel room

Luke invited Harriett to his room afterwards, hoping she wouldn’t take it the wrong way. She laughed at his flustered speech and surprisingly giving him a kiss on the forehead. They were both blushing as she said she’d love to, and they walked out of the venue hand-in-hand, all the way to his room. He let her borrow his Mickey Mouse sweatshirt so she could get comfy, and she said she would be fine in her leggings. At one point she stole his beanie, and he wasn’t sure when. He wasn’t complaining though; it made her look even cuter. He had other beanies anyway. He got changed into a t-shirt and sweatpants.

2. Kissing her

They were sitting on his bed, watching YouTube videos on his laptop. Afterwards she looked over at him, silently asking him what he thought, and he couldn’t help but lean in.

1. Asking her out

She had stayed the night. They cuddled, kissed some more, and at the end of it all he just wanted to have her. In the morning she was just in his sweater and her underwear, and he decided he wanted to see her like that more often. He had wrapped his arms around her waist and played with the hem of the sweater, and somehow he got the words out. She smiled, her cheeks turning pink, and said yes. He would never forget the look on her face, and she’d never forget the look on his. They shared a tender kiss, this one better than all of the others they shared previously.

Because this time, they were officially each other’s.
