The sound of music surprised me because it was so loud and some sort of rock music, but I didn't recognise the song or the band. The club was in near darkness with only the strobe lighting around the bar on the far wall as we walked in. There was a shiny dance floor in the middle of the club, which reflected the strobe lights, with seating and chairs following the edge of the club.
"Come on" Adrian yelled in my ear and we started towards the bar, where I recognised five of the people standing there. We walked up behind them and I hugged Oli from behind, making him start in surprise so I let him go so that he could turn around.
"Lizzie" he grinned and hugged me tightly before we pulled away and he signalled the bartender just as the rest of the group caught up with us.
Lee smiled at me and I grinned back at him before he slid off the stool and tapped the seat. I rolled my eyes at him but took the seat that he was offering me and he smiled before leaning against my side. I bit my lip and moved my arm so that my arm was draped across his left shoulder so as to make it more comfortable for the both of us. I saw Oli glare at Lee as he handed me a bottle of cola but I took a gulp and pretended that I hadn't noticed as Kayleigh skipped over and I grinned at her.
"Kayleigh!" I yelled happily and she looked up at me, a grin on her face as the group of people sitting behind us at the bar looked at me. I laughed at myself since they'd obviously heard me before I waved at them. One of the girls waved back before she turned around to continue talking to her friend and I realised that Kayleigh was drinking a lemonade, while Josh also had a cola and Chris had some sort of sparkling drink from the looks of it.
Oli gestured for us to follow him and we did, before finding a table where we all sat down, I kept my hoodie on though, since I didn't want to put anything down in case it got stolen. I loved my hoodie- as well as everything in my bag- too much to lose them. Everyone took a seat so that I was sitting on one of the cushioned stools, with Max on my left and Lee on my right. Matt Kean, Jona and Matt Nicholls sat on the remaining stools after Lee. Then sitting opposite us on the seating were Oli, Chris, Kayleigh, Lisa, Josh and Adrian, with Matt, Ivy, Dan, Summer and finally Christy on the stools after Max.
I paid attention to the fact that not only were Josh and Chris not drinking, but Adrian wasn't either, which I found very strange, so I frowned at his drink and because of where we were sitting he saw my frown and I heard him laugh.
"Some of us have to stay sober so that we can drive home" he explained with a shrug and I nodded, but I sensed the underlying 'since you can't drive' tone in his voice, but he was too polite to say so. I stuck my tongue out at him and he grinned in response. I felt someone kick my foot and looked up to see Oli smirking at me which made me glare at him so he glared back and we stayed like that for five minutes with his bandmates cheering him on. I decided to try and touch my nose with my tongue which made Oli laugh and break eye contact since I couldn't do it. I rolled my eyes at him and frowned at my friends when the song changed to the Cha Cha Slide. I grinned at Summer and she grinned back before I jumped to my feet and pulled her onto the dance floor with me.
We stood side by side before clapping our hands along to the beginning part. Then the male voice instructed us on what to do during the dance and we did. At one point Summer went right instead of left, ending in us bumping together which made us laugh before we high-fived on the part where it says 'can you go down low, all the way to the floor, how low can you go?' and Summer and I started sinking to the floor before lying on our backs with our legs folded next to us before we slowly made our way back up and jumped in the air.
We giggled when the song ended and made our way back to the table where I saw Adrian laughing at me and Dan winked at Summer as she walked over to him.
