Belinda took a sip of her drink before placing it back on the table in front of her as she looked over at Mikhail who nodded at her.

"My daughter Ophelia was with Ryan, Mikhail's boy. They had been together for a year and had decided to spend their anniversary here in London. Of course I didn't mind since I knew how much my daughter loved Ryan, but told her to go as part of a large group of friends as well. She didn't mind though and I knew Ryan also brought a couple of his friends with him" Mikhail nodded at this and I played with my fingers in my lap as I listened to her.

"Well they had only been down here for a week when I got the call from Ophelia's friend that they were in hospital and had been attacked by a group of people. I panicked and her friend also told me that Ryan was in hospital. Well the first thing I thought of was to call up Mikhail, who had just been told and was about to ring me" she sighed and Mikhail nodded, taking her hand in his even though Belinda wasn't crying. She just sounded tired and worn out.

"Both Belinda and myself no longer had our partners with us and so we'd become friends though our children being together. We drove down to London together and headed straight for the hospital" Mikhail sighed and I blinked as Belinda started talking again.

"When we got there we were told that our children were in intensive care because their conditions were critical. Officers came in and out to take the statements of their friends but no one knew anything. Mikhail and I were both frustrated. The weeks went by and our children slowly deteriorated before finally, four weeks after, they both died on the same night" she said and I felt Oli's hand cover mine as I blinked away the tears that had started to collect in my eyes.

"We grieved a considerable amount before, finally, the police managed to uncover what exactly happened through the vague eyewitness accounts as well as CCTV from nearby shops. Ophelia and Ryan were walking down the road late at night on their way back to the hotel before they walked into the gang who thought it would be fun to hurt them" I flinched, having a feeling of what would happen next.

"Ryan tried to protect Ophelia for as long as possible, as he was a strong guy, but battling against four guys was hard and they managed to drag him away before hitting his head against the floor, making Ophelia watch as they did so. There's no sound on the videos we were allowed to watch but you can almost hear the pain in her voice as she screamed, watching the blood leak from my son's head onto the ground" Mikhail's voice started to waver at the end and I took a shaky breath, my own scream echoing in my ears when Josh got stabbed. I could imagine her pain and anguish and fear.

"Ryan was unconscious and since he was immobile, the five of them decided it would be fun to rip my daughter's clothes and have their way with her" Belinda shivered and I saw Mikhail wrap an arm around her shoulders and pull her into him.

I glanced up at Josh, who looked down at me, his face ashen and I saw that he looked ill. I understood how he felt, and his hand quickly took my left in both of his and he squeezed tightly, making me realise that I was incredibly lucky. Nothing like that had happened to me, but my heart went out to the girl.
