"Keep going Lizzie, you're doing great" Ashley grinned from the other end of the equipment. I smiled back at him, my hands hovering above the bars before my gaze settled on Summer, who gave me a thumb's up in encouragement. I nodded and focused back on my legs, not that I needed to since walking was now like it was before, I could do it without thinking about or concentrating on it and I was glad of that.

It was five days later, and my fourth session of my two hour long physiotherapy sessions and my physiotherapist- an attractive guy named Ashley- had just been telling me how impressed he was with my recovery. These last five days had been interesting and the time that I wasn't having my daily sessions and doing my exercises at home, I was spending them with my friends and parents. I was grateful to still have them here because I'd realised how far apart we had all become, especially with Max, Matt and their girlfriends. Most of my focus had been helping Kay and Chris plan the wedding and helping Kay with baby stuff, or focusing on the issues I had with loving three guys at once and trying to get Summer off my back about it. Now that I wasn't worrying about them I had more time to spend with the three guys as well as my friends and parents. It was refreshing.

As for my physiotherapy, it was going great. On the first session, I'd done the full two hours but it had consisted of Ashley helping me stretch my muscles, while Summer and Dan watched as he taught them what to do, instructing them to get me to do this every hour while awake. He had taught them how to help me stretch my muscles since they would have to help me for the first few days, although he was expecting them to have to help me for the first week. After seeing my condition on the first session and having to watch as my body went numb five times, four of them for five minutes, the final one for eight, he had told me to stop hoping to go home after a week. That had only encouraged me more, so I threw myself into doing the exercises daily, first with Summer and Dan's help and then yesterday- on the third day- on my own, which I'd done in the session, with Ashley watching as I stretched my own muscles using my own weight. He had been impressed, even more so when I didn't experience any episodes yesterday and so had managed to walk constantly, though he hadn't been impressed this morning when he found out I had no upper body strength at all. It wasn't my fault that I'd never been one for using my arms, except to propel me when I ran of a morning and to hold my partner when I danced with him. After an hour of that he gave up and got me to walk, which I had been doing for the past forty-seven minutes without failure and without getting tired. I could already feel how much stronger my body was. Though I'd tested myself a bit too much yesterday by walking to and from the Villa and around the nearest town- which had taken me about two and a half hours. By the time I returned I was exhausted and received lectures from my parents, Summer and Dan, Josh, Adrian and Kayleigh. It wasn't fun but I appreciated their concern, knowing that it came with the fact that they loved me and wouldn't be stopping anytime soon.

"So what do you think?" I asked Ashley as the final hour was up and he let me sit down and drink from the bottle of water. He grinned at me and pushed his dirty blonde hair out of his face.

"I think you're amazing Lizzie. You've made such an improvement over the last four sessions and if I'm honest I wasn't expecting you to recover for at least two weeks, but you proved me wrong" he smiled and I nodded back.

"Thanks Ash" I replied and he nodded.

"And if you weren't my patient and your love life wasn't complicated I would so want to date you" he winked at me and I rolled my eyes as his joke.

"Well it was hard concentrating when you were standing next to me" I joked back and he chuckled. I'd found pretty soon that we had a similar sense of humour and enjoyed teasing each other which made my sessions more fun and enjoyable and I had a feeling that Ashley sensed it, which made me comfortable since he didn't stop joking with me.
