Josh snorted a laugh when I placed my cutlery onto my now clean plate. Anna, Oli and Dan hadn't gone overboard with what they made, in fact they made a Sunday lunch- since it was actually Sunday- and I ate it in about fifteen minutes, whereas everyone else were still halfway through theirs.
"Don't do that Lou, you're not an animal" Josh sighed and I frowned at my daughter to see that her fork- piled with a mixture of food- had frozen halfway on its journey to her mouth as she looked at Josh. She frowned at him and I knew she was going to answer back.
"But mum stuffed her face like an animal" she stated, earning snorts of laughter from everyone as my ten year old commented on my eating habits. Josh smirked at me in an 'I told you that you eat like a cavewoman' way before turning back to Louise.
"Well your mum never learned manners as a child, besides she is eating for two" was his reply and Louise laughed before nodding and shaking some of the food off her fork.
"Besides you will end up with stomach ache if you eat like me" I nodded at her and she smiled before turning back to her food and eating more like Kayleigh, which was ladylike. At least Louise had listened to my mum when my mum scolded her for eating like a guy- something which she could never drill into my head, nor my sister's and she eventually gave up when we turned ten.
Soon enough everyone had finished eating and I was taking a large gulp of Pepsi- which I loved drinking- as Anna cleared her throat.
"I have something to say" she stated. Instantly the chatter died down and everyone turned to face her, which made her shift in her seat. I still found it funny that after thirteen years, she'd never gotten over her embarrassment of people watching her, even when we performed since Anna and I shared singing roles. She bit her lip, but the smile on her face grew.
"So...err" she started and I smirked at her, knowing that she was hating being the centre of attention.
"I'm three weeks pregnant" she grinned and everyone froze before I turned to Oli- who was sitting beside her- to see that he had frozen and was staring at her. Anna shifted in her seat awkwardly before she waved a hand in front of his face.
"Oli?" she questioned in a soft voice and I snorted at his reaction.
"Just slap him really hard" I shrugged and Anna glared at me over Oli's shoulder, but it did the trick because Oli physically shuck his head before turning to glare at me as well. I grinned at him in response.
"Are you sure?" he asked her and Anna bit her lip but the smile still spread across her face.
Nearly two years ago Anna had thought that she was pregnant. She told myself and Summer that her period was two weeks late and we all assumed that she was pregnant, but found out the week after that her period was just late and that she hadn't even taken a pregnancy test in the first place. She'd been distraught and had avoided Oli for three days solid before he confronted her and she told him that she thought she had been pregnant.
Unlike Kay and I- who had gotten pregnant at an early stage- Anna and Oli's rocky relationship made it hard for them to even think about starting a family, let alone actually trying. But ever since Oli proposed it had been on the top of Anna's list for them to have a family of their own, but whenever Summer and I told her to talk to Oli about it, he either brushed it off or suggested they get a dog. I knew Anna didn't understand why he acted like that and for a while I didn't either until I basically lectured him and threatened to beat him up unless he spoke to her about it. I could see how the fact that he easily brushed it off hurt his fiancée since she loved him so much and I knew that just like I had felt with Adrian, the idea of carrying Oli's child and making a living breathing person, with both hers and Oli's traits was appealing to her. Plus Anna was an amazing Aunt to Louise and the other children, I knew it made her broody being around so many children. But Oli didn't understand this.
