Oli's POV

I helped Lizzie into the apartment, to see that everyone had already congregated here. Adrian looked up from his place at the counter and he looked worried when his eyes settled on Lizzie, before they moved to me. I shrugged at him and he scrubbed a hand through his hair, before rushing to the coffee pot and pouring out four cups of coffee for Josh, Lizzie, Marie and I, since Marie had followed us straight after Josh had locked up the shop.

I guided Lizzie over to the couch where she sat down. I was about to walk off to help Adrian, but her grip on my hand stopped me from going anywhere, so I turned back to look at her and saw she was looking up at me, worry evident in her hazel eyes. Her lips were pressed tightly together, so tightly that they were turning white. Sighing, I took a seat next to her and she leaned against me, so I wrapped my arm around her to make her more comfortable.

Adrian came over and handed Lizzie a cup, before doing the same with me. I nodded gratefully and he nodded back before perching on the arm of the chair just to the right of Lizzie. I heard shuffling and looked away from my girlfriend to see that our group of friends had moved so they were standing around the living area, all eyes focused on her, but she ignored them and took a gulp of coffee, sighing when she swallowed.

I frowned at her, feeling very worried. Lizzie was looking extremely pale, and I knew that it had something to do with that phone call she'd gotten a while after lunch. Since then she hadn't been able to stand up without her legs shaking violently and I was scared shitless. What had she been told in that phone call? I hoped everything was okay with her family, because I already knew she'd lost her sister in a car accident and they'd been as close as anyone could be to their sister. I also knew that it had badly affected her and still did; I just hoped she never had to go through anything like that again.

"Elizabeth?" Summer asked and she blinked, looking up at her best friend who was sat on the edge of the table, to easily look at Lizzie. I saw in her face that she looked as worried as I felt.

She shifted in her seat and I took my arm from around her shoulders and placed it on her knee. She looked up at me briefly before covering my hand with her own, so I turned my palm upwards, allowing her to tangle her fingers in mine, relishing the feel of her soft skin in my own before I frowned at her. I saw her lips pull up in a tiny smile and Adrian shook his head, none of us were falling for that smile, before I placed my other hand on top of hers, worried at the fact that her hand was shaking badly. She was really shaken up and I badly wanted her to say what was bothering her. I couldn't help if she didn't tell me what was wrong.

I heard her sigh as she looked around the room, her eyes lingering longer on Josh's, Adrian's and my face before she looked at Summer.

"I had a phone call today" she stated and I looked to my left, seeing that Josh was sat on the edge of the coffee table next to Summer. He frowned at me, giving me a glimpse of the concern on his face- which he was failing to mask- before we both turned back to the woman we loved. She took a shaky breath.
