(6 Days Later)
It has been a great week so far at school and in Korea in general. I managed to catch up with school work and met all my professors for previous assignments for the semester. I've also got the chance to roam a bit around the city, with Jennie, of course. She is surprisingly a great company, very loving and genuine. We grew close in just a week, nothing awkward, we just kicked it off great.
It's a Saturday today and it's my last day at the hotel. Jennie put me through a real estate agency that helped me find a place. I had trouble finding a perfect place for me. I've seen nice apartments but there would just be something not okay in my eyes. So, I ended up signing a one year contract for a duplex house in Gangnam. It was spacious with three bedrooms, two toilets and a bathroom, an open plan kitchen, and a yard with a pool. I told the agency to change some decorations for me, the paints and the furniture too. It ended up nice and homely. I'm going to be in this country for probably three years, so, I might as well make it home.
I'm leaving the hotel and moving into my place today. Jennie offered to come over to help me with moving in and grocery shopping too. I definitely need some extra help. It's not like I have so many things to pack, I brought just three luggage when I was traveling here, so I do not have much things. Besides, I'll have to do all my outfit shopping when I get settled down.
I was packing my toiletries when I heard a knock on my door. It's pretty early, so that only has to be Jennie. I opened the door and there she stood with Pajamas on and a sleepy face.
"Oh, somebody's still sleepy" I said while laughing a bit, hugging her. She hugged me back tight. She is sure a cuddly baby.
"Do you think you can help? You can just lie down and nap while I finish packing the little things left then we'll head out, is that fine?" I suggested .
"Dude I'm gonna help, I didn't wake up at 7:00 a.m for no reason." She replied, smiling. She headed straight to the bathroom.
"Bri, do you have an extra toothbrush? I just got off bed and ran out, practically." I heard her call from the bathroom. I'm telling you, the song SWEET PSYCHO represents Jennie Kim. She just does whatever she feels like. That's one thing I love about her.
"Yeah, in my toilet bag packed. You drove?" I asked, wondering how she got here with PJs on.
"No, I used a cab. I couldn't afford sleep-driving" she answered, coming from the bathroom and sitting on the bed.
"The car company contacted me, they couldn't get through you somehow. They are gonna deliver your car on Monday." She added.
"I need to check my connections or something. My mom said the same thing." I said, mentally noting it done among the things I needed to sort out.
I think I'm done." I said, standing up from the carpeted floor. As I said, there wasn't much to pack, anyway.
I called the reception to get someone to help me with my bags to the lobby. We went to the restaurant, ordered food while waiting for the Uber I called.
"So do you know Ji-Hoon? From the Philosophy class? That guy ewws me to the core. He likes you, apparently." She said while we ate.
"Her girlfriend's going to be at your neck if she finds out, her and her little friends are the most problematic sets of people in Hanyang University, I low key want your to infuriate them somehow." She joked, pretending to be thoughtful, and busted out laughing.
"I'm not gonna get whooped in school. I'll stay clear off those people. They seem like bullies by the way. I'm so not crossing them." I replied. She nodded, agreeing with me.
"The guy won't leave me alone, he goes on and on about liking you a lot." She continued.
"Tell him I do not like nobody. He has a girlfriend by the way. Why are guys assholes? Oh, I think the car is here." I said as my screen showed an incoming call from the Uber number I just called.
"I haven't finished eating" Jennie protested, pouting.
"You're so cute, let's leave. I'll order something when we get there." I told her, lifting her from the chair. She pouted all the way to the car.
She's one hell of a drama queen."I'll go drop the key card at the reception counter, I'll be right back." I said, remembering that I still have the Card in my coat.
I took off the coat and threw it in the car, the morning wind hitting my legs. I've only got my 2 Pac black oversized T-shirt on. I didn't care to wear proper clothes, I figured I was just gonna head out and enter my Uber. No stops to nowhere.
I went to the reception desk and handed the card back, the lady at the desk said goodbye to me and a quick "come back soon" while I turned to leave.
As I turned to run to the car outside, my face bumped straight on a hard surface. I was taken aback for like three seconds before I realized someone standing in front of me.
"Are you okay?" A male voice spoke, I looked up and met the guy's eyes. I was going to give him lectures about walking without having your eyes focused on your phone but the bit of concern on his face made me stay quiet.
I nodded to his question and muttered "sorry" with a forced apologetic smile on my face. I dived him and hurried to the car.
I might have wasted so much time, I thought to myself. I ran to the car due to the cold. Upon entering, the Uber started driving.
"Dude, BTS just entered the hotel, didn't you see them?" She asked without looking up from her phone screen.
"BTS? The K-Pop group? I can't tell. It's not like I know there faces anyway." I said, rubbing my hand on my nose.
"I bumped into one blind guy. If I tell you my nose was damn near broken, his chest was stone hard, how could he not see me." I complained.Jennie looked at briefly and started laughing. That somehow sounded funny to her. I'm not a funny person at all and this was me being seriously serious.
In a few minutes, we got to my house. I swiped my bank card to pay then headed to the house. The Uber driver brought my luggage and left them in the living room. I said thanks and sat on the couch with a humph.
"Who got my baby pissed?" Jennie said, putting away her phone.
"So you're not into K-pop? And you can't tell if you've seen the biggest celebrities of Korea on your way back to the hotel when you returned your card?" She asked.
"No, I really didn't notice any boy band. I was hurrying to get back to the car. What's the deal with them? I mean I hear about in the UK but mostly among teenagers." I said. I was trying to connect my phone to the internet in the house.
"They're good, they're the only K-pop group I kinda listen to. You want to go to their concert? This Friday, it's not like you've got anything interesting to do." I frowned at her last sentence and she laughed.
"It's my treat, and we won't be uncomfortable, I'll buy us sound check and VIP tickets, you'd enjoy it. Your first concert in Seoul." She continued.
I just sat there, uninterested. She went on about it and finally got me to agree on going to the Friday concert. This girl is a pest.
