"사랑은 slippin' and fallin'."
In a dark alleyway, a tall young man leans against the bricks, puffing out air due to the stormy night. Although it's summer, the rain had taken away any fresh feel and changed the tone of the night to something cold and dark.
"You're here."
The young man looks up, smirking at the outline of a person in front of him. "Did you expect me to come later?"
The young woman gulps before shaking her head. "N-No. It's not that."
The man just hums, before looking at the woman, slowly walking over to her before encasing her in a hug—one which she returned.
"I missed you," the man smiles, sincerely. One might find it slightly unnerving, however.
"I missed you too," the woman says, content and happy as a small smile graces her face.
Their outlines shine in a faint hue of gold, signifying their soulmate bond. Although these two soulmates are nowhere near ordinary.
"It's been three years," the man says, reminiscing back to the times where things were hard for everyone around him.
The woman freezes, but the man doesn't notice. Trying to keep her composure, she responds. "It really has, huh?"
"They should've been eighteen and nineteen soon, right? The little ones."
Still trying to keep her composure, she nods her head before pulling away. "Hwara should've been turning eighteen in two weeks. She always wanted to go on a big trip for it."
The woman chuckles at the memory, shaking her head a little.
"Jina," the man calls out, pulling her out of the trance. She looks up at the man she's in love with, straight into the chocolate brown orbs she loves to see—or loved.
"It's been three years—three whole years since they died."
Jina rolls her eyes. "I know that, you idiot."
She knew that—she also knew the truth behind it. As much as she loves—or loved—the man in front of her, she could never truly trust him. He's not the same boy from four years ago. He's not the one she fell in love with.
The man smiles, hiding his true meaning behind it. The woman in front of him, Choi Jina, is oblivious in his mind. She doesn't know everything he's done for her. She doesn't know how much he helped her get out of the mind-hole she was stuck in.
Jina, on the other hand, faces conflicting emotions. There's one side of her that still loves him. They're soulmates—how could she not? Then there's the other side. This side of her knows the truth about everything.
Choi Jina knows the truth about her soulmate right in front of her—that Yoon Minseok already knew that Jung Sungchan and Jung Hwara never died in the fire. Instead, they were living a risk-free and suspect free life.
