Sorry about the short chapter... it was just a good place to end it 😅
I quickly changed into some old-looking pyjama shorts and a loose t-shirt. I did not want to take anything that was too nice, and I also realised a lot of her clothes were quite revealing so I tried to avoid them. I really hoped she would not mind, but Parker seemed pretty sure she wouldn't. I felt an indescribably powerful urge to want to get back to Parker, I did not like it but I guessed it was going to be something I would have to put up with, at least for a while.
At I walked back, I could see his struggle at he tried not to let his eyes linger on my injured arm. I knew exactly what was going through his head, I was getting better and better at reading him. He wanted to take me to a hospital, but at the same time he wanted to talk and support me on an emotional basis. He knew I was stubborn too. I did not want to go to a hospital, but I was yet to find out how stubborn he could be. It was like we were talking without words.
"Can we compromise?" He asked breaking the silence.
"That depends was the compromise is." I tried my best to grin a little. I could see how my slight smile affected Parker, he instantly started beaming. He tried to hide his smile and he turned serious again.
"I won't take you to the hospital right now, but I want to take you tomorrow. I will take to a private doctor if you prefer, you won't have to worry about anyone seeing you, finding out or whatever it is you are worrying about."
"That will cost money, Parker. I don't have enough and I won't let you pay." I stated stubbornly. I couldn't afford to spend my saving on private healthcare, but I didn't want to go to a hospital either.
"If you let me pay for it I'll..." He paused, he clearly did not know what to offer.
"You see? There is nothing I want, you can't bribe me Mr Jones." I smirked at him and I slumped down beside him and sighed.
"I will tell your dad about how you came here." I glared at him, no he wouldn't. "Now I don't know, but I can't imagine he would be impressed if his only daughter was conversing with his enemy." Funny how he didn't even know how bad that could be for me.
"I know you wouldn't." He looked away from me as he spoke.
"Maybe that's true. But you don't know." He said teasingly.
"You know what Parker?" I decided I was too tired to continue debating whether I would go to a doctor or not. "You pay for me to go to a doctor if that will really make you happy." His face lit up and I rolled my eyes. I acted annoyed but in reality I kind of liked the way he insisted on it for my own good.
"So you were going to tell me?" He asked, changing the subject. I felt nerves gnawing in my stomach. I sighed deeply. Yes, it was the right thing to do. I had to. I never pictured myself here, and it scared the hell out of me.
"I am." He looked at me expectantly as I paused. "I guess I should start from the beginning."
