"Hey, Bakugou," Todoroki called after him as he walked out the classroom, they have the last period together, who knew honours algebra is what they would have in common, "I have a question for you, it might seem far-fetched."
"Well, get the fuck on with it half'n half," Bakugou making no sign of stopping his march, "I want to get to the library early, I hate getting there later, most of the books I need are stolen from some lame extra."
"I was going there myself so it works well for both of us," Todoroki adjusted his messenger bag, "where do I start?"
"Don't tell it's a goddamn story, I will cut your ass off mid-sentence every time." Bakugou threatened.
"Not a story, it's more of an idea."
"Don't make me wait forever," they both just walked out the exit, no one noticing the odd pair, "how bad can it be-"
"Would you like to start a podcast with me?" His voice might sound monotone but he was freaking out inside, fidgeting with his bag strap is the only indication of his inner turmoil, "I've been thinking of starting one for a while, a month to be more precise and I think you would make an excellent co-host."
"Why me? I know I'm amazing but wouldn't Deku and his little band of idiots be better ones?" Bakugou can't lie, that question was very far fetched.
They only talked a handful of times, if you don't count when they were partnered together to help some of the elementary students for two weeks in their freshman year. They saw each other of course, their friend groups mingled a lot because Midoriya is dating Kirishima and have been trying to get Momo and Jiro together as well, and Mina said that they could have a 'mega-squad'. Despite that, Todoroki and Bakugou didn't talk unless it was for a missed math note or a simple reminder.
"I have been doing research and found that most successful podcast hosts have a co-host which they can do banter with," Todoroki explained. "And you and I seem to be somewhat good at that."
"Don't you need to be friends for that shit?" They turned on to the road that had 'Height's Public Library' at the end.
"Well, in some cases a healthy friendship is better, but what I have in mind is a good love-hate relationship would work better," Todoroki further exclaimed.
"What would I get out of it anyway?" Bakugou asked, ignoring the 'love-hate' comment, "any job usually helps all parties involved."
"You can talk your mind without anybody interfering, and maybe to some people you would have great advice," Todoroki didn't think he'd get this far ahead, he thought it would be a quick 'fuck no' and then done. "Plus this year has been a little boring even though it's only been one month."
"Ask one of your friends to do it, I have shit to do with my life."
"You're right, Midoriya would be a better co-host," it was a dirty trick, but you gotta do what you got to do. "Sorry for asking."
The cool fall breeze whistled by, Bakugou is weighing his pride and ego against common sense and the feeling that this is a trap. He chose to bite the bullet, but he's going down guns a-blazing.
"On the days we record you can buy me lunch." Okay maybe a little more of water-gun sizzle, but Bakugou knew he probably won't do too much seeing as Todoroki has a good idea of what's going to happen with the podcast.
"Really? That's all?" Shouto expected a little more than that considering he used the 'Deku card'.
"This year does seem boring as fuck and I've been thinking of getting a new hobby anyways," Bakugou looked up at Todoroki while they stood outside of the library, "when do I start? I need to study for a godforsaken chemistry test."
