"No presents until all of you eat breakfast!" Hikari yelled over the sea of kids, still half asleep in her pyjamas. "You're only clear to open once I see your plate, and if I see food in the waste bin, no Christmas for anyone."
" You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch, " Sakiko sang as she walked past her mom to get some food. " You really are a hee- ."
"'Iko, too early and I already have a headache. Sing another word, and Tadashi will be an only child," Hikari threatened in the calmest voice she could muster.
Sakiko shot a quick glance to her partner in crime Katsuki, who seemed to be enjoying the scene from the sidelines with their older cousin. Weighing her life to her life goal as a 16-year-old to piss off her parents every chance she got. " Your brain is full of spiders, " it was a no-brainer really.
" Oh, tu ferais mieux de profiter de ce putain de repas, parce que ce sera le dernier! Passez un putain de joyeux Noël, " Hikari sang as she patted Sakiko's head innocently.
"Why threat in French?" Katsuki whispered to Tadashi as his aunt continued to skip around the kitchen.
"Sounds happier, and none of the kids have french classes yet."
"So I can cuss in French as much as I want?"
"Japanese too. Daniel thinks I'm cursing at him when I just say things I love about him, really."
"I heard my name," Daniel's head turned around from where he was making cookie batter and swatting kids away from the bowl. "Is there a problem?"
"心配しないでください、ただあなたを愛していて、あなたは焼いています、それはかわいいです。," Tadashi answered.
"Already! Come on, you were the one who slept in, not me."
"Baking, really?" Katsuki whispered again, keeping up the facade his cousin had going on.
"Tell me you wouldn't swoon over the first person who's good at baking?"
"I wouldn't actually, 'cause they're a sarcastic dork with family issues."
"Said the same thing about Daniel to your mom once," Tadashi crouched so he was at eye level. "I married him, I don't think you're getting that through your skull. I swear we're cursed."
"I don't even like him," Katsuki huffed as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"運命は、「あなたをファック」と言いながら、それらの言葉と笑顔であなたを窒息させます。," Tadashi said with a distant look in his eyes.
At that Katsuki started laughing while going to join everyone at the table, ready for what the day had in store for him.

"Ma, I think grandma finally got the facetime right!" Mina yelled over to her mom who was in the kitchen, she just spent the better part of an hour trying to explain to her grandparents how they don't need to put the phone on their ear since they can see them. "Bring the cookies too, we gotta show nana who's the boss."
"Alright, alright, don't rush perfection Mi Mi, I'll be there in a second."
"How's school been, dear? I hope you haven't been skipping and all that, or being mean to teachers. It's all over FaceBook."
"No no no, nana I've been doing really well actually, remember those people I was talking about last year, the cool kids I wanted to be like. I'm their friend now, and we help each other with school and hang out a lot. Way better than middle school, a million times better!"
