Chapter Thirty Three

"Hmm? Tapos na?"

I could only smile at Ace after he opened his eyes. "Yes, isang oras ka nang tulog." I lightly tapped his shoulder with fake annoyance. Netflix daw kami pero chill lang yung ginawa niya.

He giggled and kissed me on the cheek, "Sorry, it was a busy day at work." he stood up and stretched from his nap.

"You're going home?" I pouted. Nakakunot ang noo niya habang nakatawa, "Why? Did my baby not get enough attention today?"

"Fridays are date night but you slept." sagot ko habang nagpapaawa. I want him to stay. "Can't you sleep over?"

"Miss Natalie." ngisi niya at nilagay niya yung mga kamay niya sa bewang habang yung paa niya hinugot yung kumot. "It's bad to say no to opportunities." he said and went back to bed to kiss me on my forehead.

I hit him with my pillow, "Sige. Pagkatapos mo 'kong tulugan, matulog ka ulit. Kaasar." inis kong sabi pero di ko naman mapigilan matawa. Para kaming mga bata maglandian pero gustong gusto ko naman.

"Is your dad gonna kill me if he finds out I'm here?" bulong niya at nagtatago sa ilalim ng kumot. "Then again, hindi naman ata siya umuuwi."

We were openly joking about dad's distant feelings about me but his statement hit different now. Also, I haven't told him that Kim and I spoke again.

"Ace." I simply uttered his name.

"Yes?"

"I have something to tell you." hininaan ko yung boses ko at tumingin sa taas, sa mata niya. He lowered his gaze to meet mine, "Ano 'yun?"

"Hindi ako anak ni dad." I giggled to hide my pain away. Umayos siya ng higa para makita ako ng maayos. "Ano ulit?"

"I think I'm adopted... or fucking stolen, ewan." I snorted.

"Are you alright?" he quickly asked me and rubbed my arm. His eyes showed me pity and sadness but I didn't want him to feel that way for me.

"Don't worry anymore. Naiyak ko na lahat last week. I'm fine now." sabi ko at sumksik sa dibdib niya. I felt his breathing on my ear. "My god, baby." he mewed.

"I'm really fine now." my voice got muffled because my mouth was against his chest. As I said, it wasn't as hard to accept because everyone around me knew how my dad treated me.

"I know. You always are." he combed my hair with his fingers and sighed, "You deserve better than this."

"Gising na." bulong ko sa tenga ni Ace na nakayakap pa sa unan na iniwan ko kanina. I have been up for hours already because I had things going on in my mind.

I went downstairs a while ago and I saw Rae with dad at his office. I texted Kim and asked him be here because I need his help with the vault. This is a really good opportunity to not miss on, specially I still have my classes. Hindi ko kayang mag focus dito.

"Uwi ka na?" tanong ko kay Ace habang umiinom ako ng kape. Dad didn't see him since he is always in his damn office.

"Yeah, may babalikan lang ako sandali sa kwarto mo. I think I left my wallet." sagot niya habang nakatingin ako kay dad. I keep on glancing at dad's office to find the right time. I just nodded even though his words became mumbly on my ears.
