Chapter Forty Three

"I believe I owe you breakfast."

I told Kim as the waiter serves as fish and chips, with egg pie. He replied with the same energy, "Thank you for your kindness."

"Parang tanga." bulong ko nalang sa sarili ko. We dug in to whatever was served in front of us. We were both silent since it's just 9 a.m and you can't help but stare at random things your country doesn't have.

"Why are you staring at me?" kunot noo kong tanong kay Kim nang mahuli ko siya. It was making me uncomfortable. Lalo na't nakangiti pa siya.

"Because I have good news. I don't know if I should tell you now, though. This will be great for our last day here." tingin niya sa gilid habang umiinom ng kape.

"Pabitin. You already told me there's something, might as well tell me everything now."

"So... Two weeks? Anong plano mo sa two weeks na 'yun?" I just hissed at him for changing the topic. Kairita.

"I've been here for only a week. Wala pa akong ibang ginagawa kung hindi--" hanapin si Louie. I paused because... Although he does know the ugly side of my life, I don't want him to know about what my main plan was. "Mag sight-seeing. I chilled on the first week mostly because I'm tired but... I'm also on a budget. With the remaining 12 days that I have, let's go all out."

"Papanong all out naman ya...?" napanganga siya nang ipakita ko yung planner ko sakanya. I had one schedule per day. Isa lang para hindi mapagod.

"Damn, all out talaga. Where are we even gonna start?" niliitan niya yung mata niya para hanapin yung date bukas. I pointed it with my index finger,

"Wine tasting tomorrow. Three rooms." I winked. Alcohol will save my trip. I should atleast get drunk from wine tasting.

"Color, swirl, smell, taste, and savor. That's what...." I couldn't hear what the guy was saying because Kim got in the way.

"Do you even have money to buy-? Mmm." he whispered but I pinched him. I chuckled and told him without moving my lips too much, "I'll buy the cheapest one don't worry."

"Still a drunk." he commented when he saw me giggling by myself. I couldn't help but sneer at him. Tipsy lang kaya! I tried to dump it out but...

"It's just too good." bungisngis ko. Buti nalang may iba pa kaming kasama at naoover shadow yung kagagahan ko.

"Hep!" bawi ni Kim sa bote na napili ko. "You forgot you're broke?"

I just pouted at him for being a nagger. He's right, though. This isn't a good financial decision. I huffed, "Still think he's the boss of me."

"Still? You never listened to me." sagot niya at binalik sa shelf yung mamahaling wine bottle at kumuha ng panibago. "This was never a good idea. Buy this, then let's go."

Bakit ba niya ko inuutusan?

"Whatever. Tara na nga." barabal kong kinuha yung bote at binili na. Atleast this day wasn't that boring as before.

"Are you alright? Tahimik mo." sabi niya habang naglalakad pabalik sa bahay.

"When was I ever alright?" dark humor. He bumped me a little, "I'm sensing a new type of problem. Bakit ba ang tahimik mo?"
