Chapter Forty Five

"Ready na ba lahat, ya?" tanong ko sakanya habang inaayos yung kwarto na pagtutulugan nila Drey. I couldn't really sleep at night so as soon as I got Kim's text, nag-ayos na agad ako ng mga kakailanganin.

Money shouldn't be a problem right now. I calculated all night and I know kasya pa lahat ng natitira kong pera bago magbukas yung resort.

2 minutes.

I smiled at his text. I can't thank Kim enough for what he did for me. Although I can't look at him in the eyes, I want him to know I'm grateful. Nahihiya ako na sa ganoong paraan niya nakita yung mga ginawa ko, pero wala na akong choice.

She obviously didn't get the e-mail I sent. Noong binaba namin yung mga gamit dito sa bahay, kinailangan ko pang iprint yung mga screenshot na sinave ko mula dun sa video. It was traumatic, but I'm happy they're over.

"Hey." I greeted while the gate opens. Drey had a neutral face on, trying to hide hard feelings. Para sa mga anak na rin niya siguro. I walked towards the kids.

"Nice to meet you, Margaux and Mason." I smile as their tiny hands wave my hand. "Are you guys hungry? Tito Kim told me you guys haven't eaten breakfast yet."

"Mm-hmm." Margaux nodded excitedly. She looks like Justin. Na patingin ako kay Drey kahit alam kong hindi naman niya ako babatiin.

"Let's go." aya ko sakanila. The kids ran around the house.

"It's huge!" sigaw ni Mason at nagtatakbo kasama si Louie.

"Drey..." tawag ko sakanya pero hindi pa rin niya ako pinapansin.

"Tara, mga anak." she told the kids like she didn't hear me. I get it. It must be painful for her to grasp all of these in. We grew up together in this house.

Nakita ko siyang paakyat kaya sinundan ko siya. I want to welcome her into their room. "May isa pang kwarto sa kabila. Ayaw mo bang yun nalang yung kwarto nila Mason?"

"Wasn't that your room?"

"Lumipat na ako sa master bedroom dahil wala na si dad dito." It took me a few seconds before I answered. "I can have it arranged if you like."

"Hindi na, dito nalang sila sakin where I can watch them." she just continued fixing her clothes.

"Also, breakfast is almost ready. I had yaya cook waffles and hot chocolate-"

"I don't mean to be rude but don't act nice to me. I wouldn't be here if I didn't have the choice and if you guys didn't insist me to. Trust me, I will leave as soon as I find enough money." I looked down as soon as she stopped talking.

I'm sorry, Drey. I just wanted you to feel comfortable.

"I understand." I uttered and left.

It was the longest but shortest day ever. It felt so long because of anxiety but felt so short because nothing really happened. I didn't get to talk to her. Pati si Kim, hindi ko rin masyadong nakasalubong.

I had another talk with Ace today. He said I could start a sketch for what I want with the resort. Pwede na raw akong pumunta.

I will try and make time for that, I just need to fix everything with Drey first.
