Chapter Fifty

Nagmamadali akong lumabas pagkatapos kong ilagay yung lipstick ko. I checked my phone before going down and Kim said 15 minutes pa daw.

I don't want to wait for 15 minutes downstairs kaya chineck ko yung kwarto nila Drey kasama yung mga bata. I had their rooms separated from the twins since it's dangerous to sleep with them while pregnant. Hindi naman maiiwasan, baka masipa.

"Hey cuties." Bati ko sa kanilang tatlo. "Justin?"

"Work." she simply said while watching something on her phone. Yung mga bata, naglalaro lang sa sahig.

"Bakit hindi pa kayo maligo?" I let myself in and messed up the twins' hair before sitting beside Drey. "What are you watching?"

"K-drama. Naaadik na ata ako." iling niya. "'Yang mga pamangkin mo, ayaw pa maligo. Gusto pa daw maglaro sa labas, hinihintay ang daddy nila."

Since they were only in kindergarten, half day lang ang school nila. They go home at 12:30, just in time for our lunch. Ninakaw na nga nila si manong Ed saakin eh. 2 o'clock na, hindi pa rin dumadating si Kim.

"Manood ka." hablot ni Drey sa kamay ko. Tumingin lang ako sa screen kahit di ko naman naiintindihan yung nangyayari dahil hindi ko naman nasimulan. "Bakit ba kasi hindi pa kayo mag live in ni Kim?"

"Huh?" I was taken aback by her random question.

"I know it's only been a couple of weeks, but I'm sure you've done more than what one week of couple does. Hindi yang araw araw ka pang sinusundo, sayang gas."

"Wow, sorry kamahalan. Kapag kumita na po yung resort ko, hindi na ako aasa sainyo." biro ko sakanya, at nakatanggap ng hampas.

Drey and Justin offered to pay for the bills while they stay here. Hindi rin ako makatanggi, dahil nga sapat lang ang ipon ko para sa aming tatlo nila manong at yaya. Napostpone pa yung opening ng resort.

"Baliw, hindi ganon yung sinasabi ko. Ako na nga ang nakikibahay, malamang lang dapat ako magbayad." she lightly pushed me as a joke. "I'm just saying, treasure your time with Kim."

"I am... Mas nakaka excite lang na makita siya araw araw. I'm afraid that once we get used with each other, mag sawa kami sa isa't isa." I tucked myself under their sheets.

"Kayo ba ni Justin? How's the wedding preparations?" tanong ko sakanya kahit alam ko naman ang lahat. Pinilit ni Drey na ipush yung kasal ngayong October, which is like a little over a month now. Ayaw daw niyang mahalatang buntis siya kapag ikakasal siya.

"Okay na okay. Hinihintay nalang akong lumakad sa altar." biro niya.  Drey is thin for a pregnant woman. Maga-apat na buwan na siyang buntis pero hindi pa rin masyadong halata. If I didn't tell you she was pregnant, you wouldn't notice.

Of course, she picked me to be the maid of honor.

'Wag kayo kiligin. She only picked me because I'm her sister and she doesn't want her friends to fight over who she's closest to.

"May napili ka na bang gawin dun sa lupang iniwan sayo ni Louie?" tanong ko sakanya. Apparently, Louie left two titles of land under Drey's name and one house and lot.

Nakatiwangwang lang yung tatlong yun dahil ayaw naman niyang tirhan. She opened this idea a few months back that she wanted to do something good to atleast one of those lands so she doesn't feel bad about keeping it.
