Holiday Special: Attack of Christmas, To Another Year

The year was slowly coming to a close. With the coming end of the year, there was one event that came before it, named Christmas. This would be my first Christmas in Gensokyo. And on days like these, the residents of Gensokyo were...

"Kick-Off!" I said before blowing my whistle.

...Playing football, or soccer for the people who call it that.

Oh, I'm sorry, am I moving too fast? Let's go back to this morning, shall we?

Flashback

In Hakugyokurou, there was currently a gathering between Yukari and her shikigami, and Yuyuko. Well, I say gathering, but really Yukari was just bored and decided to visit us. Yuyuko, Yukari, Ran, and Youmu were relaxing under the Kotatsu while I was fast asleep under the warmth of my futon while Chen was drawing on my sleeping face.

"(Y/N), anything to do?" Yuyuko asked.

"Hn... Football... Zzzz..." I said in the middle of my sleep.

As if a light bulb appeared on top of her head, "A game from the outside world? Not a bad idea!" Yukari said before abruptly leaving.

A few hours later, a new football field appeared in the middle of Gensokyo, courtesy of Suika and mini-Suikas, and the Kappas. Conveniently enough, this field will disappear after the game was over. The convenience of magic, I guess.

Wanting to settle their rather one-sided rivalry, Marisa challenged Reimu to a game of football, despite neither of them really knowing the rules or how to play. Reimu, seeing no other way to escape, reluctantly accepts.

Of course, being the only outsider (at the moment), I was elected as the referee, also a coach to give a crash course on how to play just before the game began.

"Finally ~ze! I thought you got scared and ran away!" Marisa taunted, her team behind her. Her team consisted of herself, Alice, Patchouli, four Flandres, Mystia, Wriggle, Tewi, and Kaguya as the goalkeeper.

Marisa's statement struck a nerve in Reimu. "Why would I run away from you of all people?" Reimu's team aside from herself was Sakuya, Remilia, Cirno, Daiyousei, Reisen, Chen, Youmu, Keine, Mokou, and Meiling as her goalkeeper.

Though let's be honest here, only Marisa and Reimu will be the focus, the rest are just there as tagalongs to fulfill the required number of people.

"Eh... let's save the trash talks for when the game actually began." I said, interjecting them before it could escalate into an actual fight.

"Um... Yeah ~ze." Marisa said, turning her face away from me. And... is she shaking? Is she holding her laughter?

"...pft." Reimu tried to hold back her laughter, but accidentally let a snort out.

"Huh? What is it?" I asked, genuinely confused as to what they find so amusing.

"T- Take a look at your face first, and tell me what you think." Reimu said, while still trying to hold back from laughing.

I raised an eyebrow and summoned my Keyblade. Using the reflection from the blade, I saw that my face has been doodled on. Cat whiskers on my cheek. Little tiny fangs on the side of my mouth. Two cat ears on my forehead. A goatee. Whoever did this is the second coming of Picasso.
