"I have something to tell you actually, mom" Gyuri began. Mrs. Lee turned to her. Gyuri began to tell her about meeting with Felix in her dream because it was her specialty that she able to meet the dead during the early days after their death and how Felix parted with her.
"I have no idea about his passing before last night. And I made this because it had been a while since I plan to visit him" Gyuri took the red kite he had made for Felix. At the sight of the kite, Mrs. Lee once again broke into tears. "You used to play kite together at the beach"
"Yes. So I was looking forward on doing so when I visit him. But it seems that, I'm too late for it" Gyuri smirked. "He would love it if he's still around, Gyuri" Mrs. Lee replied. Gyuri replied her with a smile.
The three of them walked up the stairs. Mrs. Lee opened the door to reveal a room. "This is Felix's room. I cleaned it regularly"
"Woah" there a smile on Gyuri's lips. "I remember we used to play in here"
She stepped into the room and looked around. "He fixed the room last year since he was entering college" Mrs. Lee explained.
"Woah, he still keeps that?" Gyuri chuckled at the sight of the toy wooden train on the shelf. "You know how he never want to let go of that train when he was little" Mrs. Lee chuckled. "Aigo that child of mine"
Gyuri continued to look around the room.
"I'll be downstairs if you need me" Mrs. Lee announced. "Alright" Gyuri replied. Mrs. Lee left Daniel and Gyuri in the room.
A photo album on the shelf caught her attention. Gyuri took it and sat on the floor. She leaned against the bed. Daniel followed her. She flipped on the page one after another. There were pictures of Felix having fun with many people she didn't recognise.
"I'm glad he met so many people and have fun" Gyuri voiced. She wiped her tears. "Aigo, I sure will miss him a lot"
Daniel patted her back to comfort her.
"Sorry, Daniel" Gyuri turned to him. "For ignoring you all day. I'm just not myself today" she chuckled.
"Don't say that. I understand. I'm sure Master Felix will miss you too" Daniel replied.
Gyuri stopped at the last page of the album. It was the picture of both herself and Felix when they were little with the cat. On it was a note that wrote 'I miss you, Gyuri' pasted. She clutched on her knees and sobbed. "Damn it! Why did he have to go so early? It's me who keeps him around. It's my fault!"
Daniel stared at her. He pulled her into his embrace and caressed her head. He let her sob in his arms for a few minutes.
Gyuri put the red kite on Felix's study table. She wiped her tears and mustered a smile. "Looks like I couldn't fly this kite with Felix anymore"
Gyuri and Daniel went to the living room again.
"We're sorry for visiting on short notice" Gyuri bowed. "Don't say that, Gyuri" Mrs. Lee replied with a smile. Daniel bowed too.
Mrs. Lee gave Gyuri a hug and broke it. "Let's make sure to keep going with our life. That way Felix will be happy"
Gyuri nodded in agreement. "I'll ring you in the future. Thanks for everything, mom"
"You're welcome" Mrs. Lee smiled. She waved at them as they exited the residence.
Daniel once again followed Gyuri as they walked out from the neighbourhood towards the bus stop. He followed her to sit. Gyuri suddenly turned to him. "Can we go to a place before we head home?"
Both Gyuri and Daniel stopped walking as they arrived at the end of the main road. They crossed the road to walk on the beachy sand. The beach was not crowded since it was weekday. Gyuri took off her sandals and walked along the shore. Daniel walked far behind, watching her. *She's recalling all the time she spent with Master Felix here*
Gyuri stared at her feet as she continued to walk. The wave sent water to wash her feet. She looked up to the setting sun. "This feels just like when we parted away last night" she mustered a smile though she blinked tears. She turned her head to the sand. She saw her small self and Felix playing in the sand, running around and playing kites together. "Aish, this memory!" she chuckled to herself and wiped her tears.
Gyuri halted her steps and turned to the sea again. Daniel saw her and stopped his steps. Gyuri inhaled and shouted. "How's your journey, buddy?" She waited for a reply but she knew it will not be answer. "Hope you're happy there, Felix" she paused. Gyuri clutched down into her embrace and sobbed more. "I miss you Felix" she whispered.
For the rest of the ride home, Gyuri had been staring out the window. Daniel who sat beside her, glanced at her a few times to check on her condition. They boarded off the bus and the sky was already dark. Daniel saw a figure waiting at the bus stop. He opened his mouth to call the person but the person already ran up to them.
"Gyuri" Wonwoo called. Gyuri met his eyes and quickly lowered her head to hide her face. But Wonwoo caught a glimpse of her swollen eyes. "Hey, you okay?" he tried to search her face. Wonwoo turned to Daniel and Daniel shook his head.
"I just want to be alone now" her voice was too quiet, the boys had to distinguish her words. "Alright. Let us sent you home" Wonwoo voiced.
Wonwoo and Daniel walked Gyuri home.
"Here" Wonwoo held out a paper bag to her. "Eat up. Then taken a rest"
"Thank you" Gyuri received the bag. She bowed and walked inside.
After Daniel and Wonwoo watched Gyuri walked inside her house, they started to head home.
"Dan, what happen? Is she okay?" Wonwoo asked Daniel. Daniel gave him a short sketch of what happened. Wonwoo nodded in reply.
