Maldives is breathtaking with its natural clear blue waters, white sands and many islands. It's hard to imagine that such a beautiful place is capable of something so dreadful. The world has turned into such a dark place, I worry as I arrive at the capital city, Malé.
"This is not how I imagined the capital of the 'sunny side of life' to look like," Finn says as he looks around. There are so many people congested in one place with rubbish on pavements and people on the roads causing huge traffic jams. The city is most definitely overpopulated.
A woman in sportswear crosses the road without looking both ways. She seems oblivious to the honks of cars as she types furiously on her phone. She's hot, I say in my head before she looks at us.
"You FBI?" She yells as she makes her way to us. When we do not reply, she grins. "Not how you imagined Malé to be, right?"
"Who are you and how the hell do you know we are the FBI?" Finn asks, somewhat amused.
"Remi Hood," She shakes our hands. "You both got the cop vibe and I can see the firearm under your coat." She points at me. I glance down at my shotgun in surprise and quickly pull my coat over it.
Dammit, it wasn't hidden again.
We introduce ourselves to Remi. Me being me, I ask a question.
"Um... Remi? Your name doesn't sound Muslim; I thought all Maldivians are Muslim."
She laughs, "Aishath Remi Hood. I am Muslim, I'm just not ready yet to wear a scarf and cover myself like I'm supposed to."
Damn, she is pretty.
I stare at her admirably. I think she notices as she smirks at me and continues, "My dad is from the US and he wanted my name not to be so... Maldivian, I guess," She shrugs, "My mom agreed, and he decided to name me Remi."
"You don't look an ounce white." Finn states.
"Finn!" I glare at him.
Remi chuckles. "No, I don't, I even took a DNA test thing and he most certainly is my father. I just look a lot like my mom." She explains.
Remi Hood. Even her name sounds heavenly on my mouth. Her eyes are stunningly dark, her hair a rich shade of brown - almost black if it weren't for the sun - tied into a messy bun. Her tan brown skin is perfectly smooth without a hint of makeup anywhere on her. Her lips are thin with a natural pink colour and her body is in perfect shape. "Damn, those curves..." I sigh dreamily.
Finn frowns. "What?"
Both Remi and Finn look at me puzzled. "Shit, did I say that out loud?" I wince.
Remi's laugh is fascinating. She laughs, her eyes going small with tears of mirth before the smile tugging on her lips breaks into a grin.
I grin back.
She's beautiful.
"I gotta go, you boys just took precious minutes out from my workout," she jokes. "Good luck on your case! You'll need it." she winks before she sashays out of sight.
