Finn

I pace around in my room restlessly. What the actual hell? It was right under our noses. Why did I fail? I'm such a dumbass. Will too.

Remi, who I thought was going to be like a new sister to me deceived us. She was lying to us all this time...

On the other hand, as Will said, she was manipulated by her dad. That bastard Richard is likely a psychopathic monster who can do anything.

No, she still had the choice to alert the police. When she turned 18, she definitely would have the ability to think for herself and stop committing theft.

Although, she may have not trusted the law enforcement. She might have feared that they were going to arrest her, even if she was a kid.

However, as an FBI agent, I must not be overtaken by my personal opinions and wants. I need to do what's correct. I need to follow the rules. They are there for a reason. Remi will go to jail for the right purpose.

I pick up my phone and stare at it unsuredly. To call Ryan and tell him the truth or to not call him and help Remi find her mom is the question...

I love my mates, but my job is on the line. I take a huge, insufferable inhale, tap Ryan's contact and ring him. My hands shake in uncertainty. Am I making the right decision?

Yes, I am.

No, wait, I'm not.

Can I fathom seeing Will upset? He would lose his girl, I would probably lose his friendship forever too. Life without my partner?

I think I shouldn't do this.

But my job...

WHY IS THIS SO COMPLICATED?!

I kick a trash can in detrimental frustration. Come on, Finn, make up your stupid mind-

"Hi, Finn," Ryan's voice on the phone startles me. "What's up? Found anything suspicious yet?"

Shit, I forgot I called him. Unable to make a decision, I stay silent.

"Hello? Are you there?"

I open my mouth. "Yeah, I found out something, alright." My anxiety increases rapidly.

"Really, what is it?"

It's simple, just say it. Richard Hood is the murderer, Remi is the thief. "I-I just found out... "

Screw it, I'm not telling him. I'm helping Remi, no matter the consequences.

"...that I liked the shirt you were wearing yesterday!"

Kill me.

"What?" Ryan asks in confusion. "That's why you called me?"

"Y-Yep." Good save, idiot.

"I thought it was something about the case," he sighs. "Well, I think I got the shirt off of Amazon."

"It looks cool." I exclaim.

"I'm so puzzled, are you trying to hit on me?" he chuckles. "In that case-"

"No, no, no, I just wanted to tell you I liked your shirt," I rushedly mutter. "okay, bye now!"

"Um, oka-"

I abruptly end the call. Thank the lord, I was an inch close to spilling everything about Remi. I walk out of my room to see Will on the couch, looking worried.
