Will

I kick a pebble as I wait for someone to arrive at this address. We've been waiting for an hour and we've knocked on the door many times, but no one seems to be home.

"Maybe Ryan accidently gave us the wrong address or something." Finn tells me as he sits on the doorstep. I sigh and stare at the house again. The house was small and looked old, sort of like it was hiding from the world. Not the type of house I expected such a pretty girl to live in.

"Hey, let's go grab a drink and come back." I say to Finn to which he nods.

Just as we are about to leave, I spot Remi walking towards her house. She doesn't seem to notice us in front of her house as she is typing furiously on her phone. Who's she texting? I wonder. She has a huge duffle bag hanging from her shoulder, which looks very heavy.

"Hey, Remi!" Finn waves as she reaches the doorstep. Remi's eyes snap away from the screen, very taken aback.

"What are you boys doing here?" she asks as she puts her phone in her pocket. She looks at us both with a piercing look, waiting for an answer.

"So, coincidence, the case we are solving involves you and your father." I say, giving her a sad smile. "Sorry about your mom."

"Oh? Oh. Well, shit." Remi says and shrugs.

"We came here hoping to ask a few questions. Would you mind?" I ask her politely. She nods her head and motions us to come inside after she opens the door. The duffle bag falls off her shoulder to her elbow. She curses under her breath.

"Let me help-" I start as I reach for the bag, but she stops me with a swift spin. A look of panic forms in her eyes before she laughs it off.

Did she freak out? Maybe I just imagined it...

"I don't need any help, gentleman." She smirks as she swings the bag over her shoulder again, as if it is as light as a feather.

We enter her house and I look around. The inside of her home is quite the contrary, comparing it to the outside of the house. The living room is spotless and elegant with extortionate furniture, making the house look bigger than it is.

"Make yourself at home, I'll be right back." Remi runs up the fancy stairs.

Finn gives me a look. "What the hell does Richard Hood do for a living? I mean, look at this stuff, man!" He points at the chandelier hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the room.

"This is not what I expected at all." I reply, looking around.
