Remi

I check my phone for the hundredth time. It's two AM and none of me is sleepy. Will Louis has made me question myself.

Did I make the right decisions?

I remember the deal with my dad. I blackmailed him to tell the police that he was stealing from people when I was around twelve years old, but he blackmailed me right back.

He told me that he would kill me and stage it like it was a suicide.

I know without a doubt that he will get away with it. I did not want to die at that time, maybe it would have been better to have taken the risk...

Unfortunately, you can't change the past.

Instead, I had stayed quiet and planned to do that for the rest for my life. But then, he started to do something far worse than theft.

He started to kill innocent women.

It was all over the news and everyone was scared. Nobody knew who was doing such a horrible thing.

Except me.

I fully dedicated myself to my faith and it helped me pass time, but the secret I was keeping from everyone was just too much.

13 years ago, Remi

I cannot do this, I just can't.

I storm into my dad's room. He is laying on the bed, smirking to himself about God knows what.

So creepy.

"I can't do this; I can't keep this secret anymore!" I scream at him.

He blinks and looks at me, not bothering to get out of his bed. He looks at me menacingly.

"So, you choose to be killed... Just like your mother?"

"No, I-" I am speechless. Tears fight to be set free, but I fight back, I have cried enough times.

Just like your mother.

His words repeat in my head.

Wait, does that mean he killed her?

If I die I will never find out. "Let's make a deal," I bravely say. Huh, what deal? I wreck my brain to come up with something that will save innocent lives and somehow satisfy him.

"A deal?"

"Yes, dad, a deal. You steal from people, to get money right? And you kill people just for the joy of it. So, the deal is that I will steal from people and only from the rich and messed up people. I will do everything for you, I will get the money and everything for you, but I will not kill anyone, no one. You will not kill anyone either, you will not steal from anyone either. You will just have to stay at home and let your daughter do everything for you. So, do you accept, father?" I ask nervously, I know what I just committed myself into, I cannot just watch my own father mercilessly take away souls.

My dad takes a moment to digest this.

"Okay, it's a deal." He says, unbothered.

"R-Really?"

"Your training will begin tomorrow at five AM sharp."

That was scary, but I hope I made the right decision.
