Chapter 23 {Deduction}

And for the third time, you found yourself idling on your horse for the gate to be exalted. This mission was to seize the abnormal, indicating you would have to check the titan forest the abnormal crawled into. You transferred to Eren's squad so that the things that happened last time wouldn't happen this time. 

A cold sensation flowed through your complete body once you entered the titan forest. "Titan detected! 7-meter!" Jean called. Your squad leader, Captain Levi, commanded your squad to use ODM since there were more and more titans arriving by the minute. While they hovered in the air, you went to ground level and got ready to use that skill which would rouse the human, but the Captain came down to you and told you: "Think about it. We're way beyond the walls. We'll come back here another time to save the humans from their sickening titans." And so, you all bypassed the titans and didn't kill them since you knew that there were breathing humans inside of the nape. 

Your goal was the abnormal, which nobody was able to find. Riding your horses, Armin asked: "The abnormal was last seen rolling into the forest... But we could be misunderstood... What if the abnormal just took the forest as a route to somewhere else?" His words surprised you, and everyone else on your squad. "You're right... Captain Levi, what if the abnormal isn't in this fore-" 

The scene of the abnormal split your words off. Everyone on your squad used their ODM gear to travel backwards. "That damn titan! Always looming out of nowhere!" Jean sharply shouted. "Are you alright?" Eren asked you while you rocked around the trees that were enclosing the abnormal. You coldly stared ahead with shaking hands. "What's wrong with me?! This didn't happen last time!" The powerful thought in your head blocked you from hearing Eren. "Y/N!" Eren said once more, which caught your attention. Your cold stare peered at him. The abnormal used it's hand to bring down all the trees until there were no more enclosing her. The scouts didn't have anywhere to hide since all the trees were beaten down, neither did they have the trees anymore implying that they couldn't use their ODM gear well. 

There were snares that Hange put up in the forest. Those traps were arranged for the abnormal. "Lead the abnormal this way!" Hange screamed and swung her hand as she sat down on one of her canons. Some scouts started taunting the abnormal by declaring: "Hey dipshit! Over here!" or "Come get me you bitch!" It was the only way to get notice of the abnormal. The abnormal started tracking these scouts as they led the abnormal more proximal to Hange's traps.

Those scouts were like irritating mosquitoes flying in front of the abnormal's face. The typical reaction would be to wave your hand in front of your face to shoo them away, and that is correctly what the abnormal did. Its hand tapped out all 6 of the scouts that were flying in front of the abnormal's face. Their deduction was beneficial, the abnormal fell into Hange's trap. 

"Fire!" Hange cried. A collection of sharp-edged, great metal bolts pierced right into the abnormal's skin but wasn't quite to maintain the abnormal down. "Damn it! I should've shot the canons before it was too late!" Hange grieved, observing the abnormal run away. 

It felt like the abnormal had been there forever, but it had only been there for a few minutes. It's there for a few minutes, then it's gone. It vanished. "Where is it?!" Eren yelled as you and everyone else on your squad entered the ground level. 

You marked behind you, and you saw nothing but a group of lifeless bodies and their bloodstains all over the trees. You were about to break down and didn't know why. 

All there was left of was your squad, Commander Erwin, and Hange's squad. There was nobody else but all of you. While studying at the dead bodies, Captain Levi said: "We all know that this abnormal is a human who is a titan shifter... We can't kill the abnormal, and we need to find out who is the one advising this titan." You all nodded and got your horses to seek for the human who has grown out of their titan form.
