"Hey, Jean... Do you know if Eren is still living?" You two were chatting about the ODM gear, but then you changed the topic. Jean swiftly angered up and shouted: "What's with you and Eren? I never go through a day without you speaking his name!" It showed that Jean was skeptical of Eren because all the concentration surrounded him. "He's been my friend since we were 5, and I don't want to lose him... Sorry..." You spoke. All of a sudden, he felt bad for screaming at you. "O-Oh! I'm sorry!" Jean apologized aloud, but too noisy that everyone looked at him in the cabin. You chuckled and told him: "It's alright!" with a radiant smile. Your smile appeared to make Jean blush to the point where he looked like he had a fever.
It was shocking. You had only gone through a week of the military exercise, and you were already established 5th best in all of the soldiers. Mikasa Ackerman sat in the #1 spot.
While eating dinner, Mikasa sat down alongside you and bid you a topic: "You're close with Eren, yes?" "Eren? Uh, yeah we were best friends since we were 5 years old." You answered. "How come I never saw you around him?" "I had to move away from Shiganshina when I was around 8 years old. So how about you? Are you close with Eren?" You required. "Yes. I became his friend and lived with him since I was 9 years old. The only purpose I'm here is because of Eren, and the purpose of why Eren here is because of what occurred in Shiganshina." Your mind loaded up with uncertainty.
"W-Wait what happened to Shiganshina?" "You don't know?" Mikasa questioned you. After learning what passed to it, you fell out of your seat. Mikasa rushed to your service and ordered you to rest. For the whole night, the thought of what transpired to Shiganshina was attached in your head. It kept you up. Because of this, you were exhausted and delicate in the morning and was not prepared for training.
There was also the case that you only joined the survey corps because your commander told you to act as Eren's cage, and not because you desired to. But, this was the only way you could be a cadet. You were still there for Eren though.
Your commander, Commander Keith, then told you that you were required to join the scouts since Eren has entered the scouts. You lamented once again, at the fact that you were only there because of Eren, and not because you aspired to.
"Eren!" You called, regarding him across from you. You both ran to each other and he bound his arms around you. You both savoured the warmth of the hug. "It feels like I haven't seen you in forever!" You giggled as he patted your head. Eren told you what happened to him through the past week, and you were overwhelmed by this. Your first mission was beginning, and everyone in Trost encouraged the Scouts on.
