Today has been, so far, a pretty calm day. Nothing really important happened. A rather boring day in school, the same as always at the cafe, the training went smoothly as usual and now, it was quiet.

I am currently in the middle of my daily patrol, around midnight, watching over the city from the roof of a building.

Given my rather unusual daily routine, in comparison with any other middle schooler, the bags under my eyes were even more prominent than normal. Of course, for a mere teenager, the existence of these baggs wasn't normal. Well, it wasn't to others. I, on the other hand, after so much time, I became used to them as being my normal. The reason for why now they were so prominent on my rather pale face is because I skipped a night of sleep. It wasn't something new. Something that I've also gotten used to.

You see, the villains never sleep. One of the many reasons my patrols are during the night. But last night, a villain decided, probability without planning ahead, to kidnap a male teenager who was drunk out of his mind. Something stupid and reckless, to roam around the streets of this city in the middle of the night drunk.

I was nearby, luckily for the kid, and saw it all happened. Now, something you should know about me is that I was born quirkless, meaning no superpower for me.

Unfortunately, for me and for the villains I fight, I am a very stubborn person and my dream is to become a hero. Being born quirkless didn't exactly help my case. Actually, it was quite the opposite. But I have studied other pro heroes in action, fighting. You name it and I saw it. From the little burglaries attempts during the night to the humangos villains destroying buildings in their way, desperate to get away. Not a very smart way to escape if you ask me.

And, to top it all, I am working my way to entering in the top school for heroes in Japan. U.A. It seems like a dream. But I worked so hard to be where I am now. Even though they had recently removed the rule that allows only people with quirks to join their hero course, I am not stupid. There is still a physical exam to pass, alongside a written one - but I'm not worried about that one - and nobody knows what it is.

Plus, being a hero it's harder than it sounds, I would know, after all, that's what I'm trying to do here in the middle of the night. So I trained. Hard. Always pushing my limits far beyond my body's capacities. Thing that, as you may expect, sometimes ended up causing me some injuries, but it was completely worth it. So even though I was born quirkless and had no peculiar power of my own, I trained my body and mind to be able to handle all sorts of dangerous situations so that I can save people.

That was it. The only reason I'm doing everything I'm doing is so that I can help people. Going back on the matter of the drunk teenager.

He tried to put up a fight, but the state he was in only made things easier for the villain and he was soon knocked out. Given the situation with my quirk I specialize now in stealth operations and, of course, kidnapping cases for personal reasons. So I let the villain take the kid. Fighting him head on would be to my disadvantage and doing it in a back alleyway even more so. Plus, the kid being unconscious, he wouldn't be able to run, meaning I would have to carry him. Not that I would mind that, but that would leave my back exposed to the villain which wasn't a risk I was willing to take.

I quietly followed him dragging the kid to an abandoned wearhouse. Only looking at how he treated the child made me sick. Once he got inside he tied him up to a chair in the middle of a large room with stacks of probably empty boxes. I wasn't impressed. I mean it was awful, but nonetheless, I've seen worse.

He pulled the kid by his hair to lift up his face, checking to see if he was coming back to his senses. The little pained groan that escaped his lips let the villain, and me know that he was regaining his consciousness. With a sadistic smile, the villain let go of the kid's hair and walked away to disappear behind a small metal door.
