As I slowly gained consciousness I became painfully aware of my throbbing injuries. I felt the blood pulsing through my veins making me feel as though my whole body was on fire. I could hardly pinpoint the injuries as it was hurting everywhere. The stabbing pain made my head ache, the emptiness in my stomach made my belly ache and the uncomfortable position I was laying in made my back ache.

I was laying on my right side on something hard and cold... most likely on the floor of some room... I groggily opened my eyes to analyze my surroundings, but when I did I had to blink a couple times to make sure that my eyes were indeed open.

It was so dark that I couldn't see anything... not the beginning nor the end of the room I was in... I could feel the floor under me, but I couldn't see it and looking up I was faced with the same darkness instead of a ceiling.

Raising in a sitting position I brought my right hand in front of my face, but I couldn't see it. It was as though it wasn't there... as though it didn't even exist... I weakly moved my fingers before firmly clenching my fist in an attempt to make my eyes catch my hand's movements, but still nothing.

The only way I knew that I still had my right hand was due to the pain that stung my knuckles the second I clenched my fist. I did the same with my left hand just to have the same exact result.

With a shaky breath, I rose my hand to touch at my eyes. Instinctively, I closed my eyes before I gently patted over my lids. Only after feeling my eyes in their sockets behind the lids I released a relieved breath.

With shaky fingers I traced over my thin body in an attempt to make sure I still possessed all my limbs. The ghost like feeling of my fingers traced down my body over a soft and thin cloth like material.

Reaching my bear feet I let out another relieved sigh before I found the strength within myself to stand up. On trembling legs I rose from the floor before I started blindly walking forward.

With a hand reaching forward to prevent from just walking into a wall and with my whole body trembling from the cold and fear, I placed one foot in front of the other, sheepishly advancing.

I violently flinched back when my index and middle finger touched something. I touched the hard surface as I realised it was the wall I've been looking for. I slowly walked around the room with my left hand glued to the wall.

Judging from the wall's shape and the large amount of time I've spent walking without encountering a corner, I think it's safe to assume that the room has a circular shape. Taking a few steps away from the wall, I tilted my head back to stare upwards. The same blinding darkness met my eyes.

I thought that after so much time my eyes would just adjust to the darkness and I would be able to see at least some rough shapes, but I realised there was nothing to adjust to. There wasn't even the smallest hint of light in the room so I was stuck in the terrifying darkness.

I found myself jumping with a hand reaching upwards to try and find the room's ceiling. After my third failed attempt I took a second to rest.

The sole of my feet were starting to hurt and my body was still trembling, but I was determined to reach all the limits of the room I was confined in. Jumping again, I felt as though I had reached higher than ever before, but nonetheless my fingers touched nothing.

My freezing fingers touched nothing... nothing was there... I slowly felt as the small amount of hope I had left was leaving my soul. And to make things worse, when my feet touched the floor again, the force of the impact made my knees buckle under my small body.
