I haven't seen Tatum in four months. We have texted occasionally and FaceTimed when we could. After the funeral, I had to come back to California. Tatum stayed and flipped the house she lived in. She's renting it out to tourists for vacations. But she finished it and now she's coming back.

She's been having a rough time since her grandpa died. I knew it was going to hit her hard, but I didn't think it'd hit her this hard. But, she's doing better. She's happier again after months of sadness. I could tell just through texts.

The baggage from her flight started to come around so I grabbed her bag and stood off to the side and waited for her. It was only about 7 am so it wasn't too crowded. I'd be able to spot Tatum easily.

I saw Tatum walked around the corner and a smile spread over my face. Our eyes met and she picked up her pace. I moved her luggage to the side, my arms going around her waist as she reached me. Her arms snaked to my neck and I lightly picked her up,

"I missed you so much" she mumbled into my neck,

"You have no idea how much I missed you," I told her and put her on her feet.

We pulled back from each other, but we never stopped touching. I kissed her lips a couple of times as she smiled up at me,

"Wanna get out of here? We can grab some breakfast on the way back to your apartment" I asked, pecking her lips again. Tatum gave me the brightest smile with a big nod. I grabbed her bags and we headed out to my car.

I opened the door for Tatum, letting her get in the car before I shut it behind her. I put her suitcase and carry-on in the trunk and got in the driver's seat. I plugged my phone into the aux, tossing it over to Tatum. Instantly more Hawaiian type songs came on. We've listened to it before makes me want to live on the beach,

"Already homesick?" I asked, my hand squeezing her thigh,

"It's always sad when I have to leave" she shrugged, taking my hand in hers and intertwining our fingers.

Tatum had asked to go to Miss Mary's cafe, so that's where we went. I parallel parked on the street, waiting for cars to pass before I got out. Once I got out, I walked around and opened Tatum's door for her, as I always do.

The bell rang as we walked inside and Miss Mary came running around the counter to hug Tatum. I had been in a few times so she knew what was going on,

"Oh I've missed you sweetie" Miss Mary squeezed Tatum, making Tatum let go of my hand,

"Go on and take a seat. It's on me today" Miss Mary pulled away and went back behind the counter.

Tatum and I slid into our familiar booth. I couldn't help but stare at my girlfriend. She looked beautiful as always. Her hair was definitely lighter and her skin was tanner from the Hawaiian sun. The freckles on her nose really popped,

"Stop staring at me" she joked and covered her face,

"Sorry baby" I laughed as Miss Mary sat down two plates and two iced coffees.

"How have things been around here? Anything new? We haven't talked much so I don't know what's going on" Tatum shrugged, taking a sip of her coffee,

"Well," I lightly laughed, "Cal and Grace aren't a thing anymore. They just didn't work together. They talk still though"

"What!? I literally asked Grace how Cal was and she said it was all fine" her eyes widened,

"They're okay. Found they are better as friends than boyfriend and girlfriend"
