{ Tatum }

My alarm blared and the arms that were wrapped around me tightened. I slowly opened my eyes and smiled when I noticed I was pressed against Ashton's chest.

I tried to move to turn my alarm off but Ashton just whined,

"Ashton, I really have to get up" I sighed. He hummed but finally let go of me. I rolled away from him and grabbed my phone, silencing it,

"What time is it?" Ashton spoke- his raspy morning voice making me want to jump his bones right there,

"5:30. I have to be on the beach at 6" I spoke, swinging my legs to the side and getting out of the bed. Just as I did that, there was a banging on the door. It was my surf coach. He does this to make sure we're awake,

"I'll just leave when you go to the beach. I have to go get Harry anyway" Ashton yawned and rolled his face into the pillow.

I grabbed the clothes I needed and stepped into the bathroom. I decided to go with my swim short bottoms and a rash-guard. I tossed and actual pair of shorts over my bottoms and brushed through my hair. I quickly brushed my teeth then stepped back into my room where Ashton was now sitting up on his phone, his eyes still sleepy as ever.

"I really gotta head to the beach now" I sighed, stuffing a towel into my backpack,

"Don't worry. I know" Ashton stood and slipped his shoes on, "I'll carry your board down" he came and squeezed my hips,

"That's sweet but they're already on the beach. Chris and the coach are in charge of them all" I smiled and stepped up on my toes, pecking his lips,

"Thank you though" I smiled. Ashton nodded and I grabbed my phone and we exited my room, just as Layla was coming out of hers across the hall,

"You had a boy in your room!" She faked gasped,

"Layla, too much energy" Ashton rubbed his eyes.

When we got to the lobby, Ashton hugged me and kissed the top of my head,

"I'll bring Harry when you're done" he looked down. I nodded and he kissed me before he left to the car.

Once he was out of my view, I turned back and walked towards Layla as we made our way out the back and to the beach,

"So" she nudged me, "What'd you and Ash do in your hotel room that you don't have to share?" she winked,

"We didn't have sex!" I laughed, "We've only been together for a month Lay"

"Yeah, but he's hot. Girl, hop on it" she playfully smirked. I rolled my eyes and sat my bag down before making my way to our coach.

{ Ashton }

When I walked through the door at 6:30 am, Harry was already in front of me,

"Dude, she has practice until 10. We can't go until then" I told him. He nodded and I walked with him to the living room,

"So how long have you and her been together?" He asked as I laid down on the couch,

"About a month" I spoke,

"You really like her don't you" Harry laughed,

"I really do" I smiled,

"Okay. You're tired. I'll leave you alone until we leave" he finally spoke which meant he'd be quiet.

The next time I woke up, Harry was shoving and hitting me,

"Ashton! It's 10:15! Let's go!" He spoke. I quickly got up and changed then headed out the door.

Harry talked the entire drive. Finally we made it to the beach,

"Tatum! Hi!" Harry yelled running down. Tatum was waxing a board. She smiled and Harry hugged her, taking her off guard.

I finally got down there and kissed her briefly,

"You sure you want to do this? I mean you're kinda training for a big ass tournament" I pulled her aside,

"I promise it's okay" she nodded and went back to Harry.

She taught him everything on the beach first, then took his out in the water. I sat and took some pictures and videos for Mum.

Harry was actually doing really good. Tatum never once helped him.

"You're good! That was amazing!" They both smiled walking back up,

"Thanks for teaching me. I want to watch you surf though. I'm hoping Ash will bring me Saturday" Harry spoke coming to my side,

"I'll bring you" I promised, "Go to the car. I'll be there in a second" I handed the keys to him. He nodded and went off,

"Thank you for teaching him" I hugged Tatum,

"Of course. He's sweet" she smiled,

"I'll try and come see you before Saturday but we've got a lot of family stuff planned" I sighed,

"Don't worry about it. I'll see you Saturday" she stood on her toes and kissed me.

< Saturday >

{ Tatum }

I was about to head down to the water for my final heat- the championship heat. It was me and two others left, Taylor Quiggins and Alaia Sanchez.

There was a bunch of people here- Ashton, Luke, Calum, Michael, Crystal, Sierra; Harry was even here. Calihan and Jasper were standing with them too.

I headed over to them quickly. They all hugged me, telling me good luck then Ashton kissed me,

"Go win my little winner" he grinned. I laughed and ran down to the water with my board.

I paddled out. The waves were amazing today. And I was hitting them easily. But it's close. All three of our scores were close.

I paddled out farther and sat up on my board. I could feel the waves pulling my feet below. There's a good one coming.

I turned my head and saw the best wave of the day. This was my big one.

I laid down and started paddling. As soon as it was there, I was on my feet and soaring,

But, my board got hit.

I instantly felt a horrific pain shoot through my knee as I went down, hitting my head on the front of my board.

I hit the water,

Then it went black,
