Today is court- and I'm dreading it.
I didn't sleep at all last night. I was nervous about what's going to happen and I'm nervous to talk. Ashton tried to stay up until I fell asleep, but that failed- which is fine because I wanted him to sleep.
I stood in front of the mirror. I had just finished getting ready. I've retold every detail I could remember multiple times and I'm going to have to do it again.
The knock on the door grabbed my attention and Ashton walked in, closing the door behind him,
"Hey" he softly smiled and kissed my head, "Today's it. We go to the court and we get this done, then we will go out with your friends and have a good time. I promise it will be okay"
I nodded and turned in his arms, looking him over, his dress pants and shirts wrinkle free,
"You look good" I smiled. He laughed and I saw his cheeks redden,
"Come on. You're grandpa is waiting" Ashton took my hand.

At the courthouse, I was seated in the front with my own lawyer. My grandpa and Ashton were in the row right behind me. Soon my dad was walked in and was on the opposite side of the room,
"All rise" was spoken and we all stood as the judge walked in, and we sat once we were told we could.
They went over every detail of my childhood and my dad plead guilty once again, then they read the letter I wrote, saying that he should not be let out.
"Based on the letter from your daughter and based on how you acted during the visit with her, I deny Patrick Kohole of parole. He will finish out his sentence of 25 years" the judge spoke.
My eyes widened and I smiled, turning around to look at Ashton and my grandpa, who both sent big smiles.
"Now please bring in Kevin Makalo, Trevor Grant, and Johnathon DeGaldo" the judge spoke as they took my dad out. As I watched the three men walk in, my entire body went numb. I had to look down to keep myself from freaking out,
"Miss Kohole, please come up" the judge spoke. I lifted my head and stood, smoothing out my dress and walking up to the stand and taking a seat. I looked at my grandpa who just nodded,
"Miss Kohole, these are the three men your father let repeatedly rape you over the course of eleven years, correct?"
"Yes"
"Why were these men hired?"
"Either they owed my father money or my father owed them money. I was the payment"
"Did they ever hit you or beat you, or physically hurt you, besides raping?"
"Yes. They would hit me if I fought them then tie my hands so I couldn't do anything"
I was starting to get anxious and nervous. I didn't dare look up because if I did, I knew I'd lose it,
"Okay, you can go take your seat" the judge told me.
After I had taken my seat, she called each guy up, asking them questions. They all plead guilty.
"I sentence Kevin Makalo, Trevor Grant, and Johnathon DeGaldo to 25 years in prison, no parole"
I jumped from my seat and straight into my grandpa's arms,
"It's over baby. It's over" he whispered, kissing my head. I had tears in my eyes. I tried containing them but I couldn't.
