"So they just up and threw her out?"

"Pretty much."

"Yeesh that's harsh."

The three teens walked together after a long day at school, planning to spend the afternoon together at Sams.

"I'm home!" Sam shouted when they arrived, but received no response. She shrugged and led the boys to the basement to play some video games.

A hour had passed, and the friends were taking a break, talking about everything and anything.

"I'm just saying, if the school board would just offer more healthy opt-" the goth paused, and remained still for a few seconds.

"Uh Sam?" Danny waved his hands in front of her face. "Hello? Earth to Sam?"

"Shush," she swatted his hand away, "do you hear that?"

The boys strained their ears to hear what it was Sam was referring to, but becoming as fixated as her once they heard it.

My mother told me
Someday I would buy
Galleys with good oars and
Sails to distant shores
Stand up high in the prow
Noble barque I steer
Steady course for the havens
Hew many foe men
Hew many foe men
Hew many foe men

Unaware of their movement, they had all found themselves at the source of the singing, the wide open door to the basement bathroom, where a girl sat scrubbing the shower.
