Draco laid on the couch by the fireplace, full from dinner and happily content as he listened to his soulmate sing a song he has taken a liking to.

But I don't wanna fight, I don't wanna cry
I don't wanna leave, I don't wanna be here, be here now
There's a bad taste in my mouth
I stumble in the dark, tripping on a heart
It's gonna leave a mark, maybe we can stay and wait it out
You're the one that talks me down
And even you can't help me now
Even you can't help me now

He thought her voice was heavenly, and even as she sang into the night, he never truly minded. It lulled him to sleep many times and was there to greet him in the morning. It was a nice constant to have throughout the day, to know that at least once he'd hear her.

It was the days she wouldn't sing until night that scared him.

She sang about many things, a good portion being of sad or serious matter. But the nights she sang a particular few songs that must've hit close to home for her were worrisome. Draco just hoped she was ok by morning. When she sang happier songs, he'd know that she made it through the night.

She always did.
