You were roommates with Hermione, but it was beyond that, you were the best of friends and you believed that you told each other everything but sometimes a little more work was needed to find out the truth. The two of you were meant to be meeting to work on some homework together in the library but you waited ten minutes and she didn't meet you there. Hermione was a very punctual person and never just didn't turn up when she said she would, so you became worried when she didn't arrive.

The logical first place to check for her was in your shared dormitory. You expected that she wouldn't be there as very rarely was anything ever that simple but luckily for you when you walked up to the door of your dorm, you found Hermione pacing through the room. You went to speak, to gain her attention but she was already talking, not to you but to herself.

"Snap out of it, Granger!" She said firmly. "When did you become caught up on boys? He's just some boy from Ravenclaw, you should just forget about him; forget about his stupid perfect hair and stupid perfect smile."

Her words were angry and bitter towards herself as she paced erratically across the room. You had never heard Hermione talk about anyone as though she liked them romantically, so this was a new phenomenon.

"'Mione?" You called out.

Hermione's eyes widened as she looked at you as though she had seen a ghost.

"H-how long have you been standing there?" She asked.

"Long enough to hear about someone's perfect hair and smile," you shrugged.

"That was no one," she stated too quickly for it to be the truth. "I was talking about no one."

You let out a chuckle, making your way over to sit down on your bed, Hermione still looking terrified and shocked by you witnessing herself in such a manner.

"I'm your best friend, you can tell me if you like someone. It's not a bad thing, you know," you assured her.

Her cheeks flushed. "It's just a childish crush, it's nothing really."

You smiled widely at her, knowing it was far more serious than that. Hermione was such a logical and level-headed person that you couldn't wait to see her when her head was clouded by love and the lack of logic it held.

"This is going to be great fun," you grinned. "Tell me about him."
