When you and Sirius had first decided to move in together, you weren't too sure on where you'd end up.
You weren't going to be like Lily and James and live in a small little town, you didn't think you wanted to be like Sirius's family either, apart from the obvious reasons, and live in a townhouse somewhere.
It was hard choosing where you wanted to live but the luxury of wizarding travel meant you could live pretty much anywhere.
In the end, when Molly and Arthur told the two of you about Shell Cottage you couldn't pass it up.
"Is it time for the housewarming yet?" a voice questioned from your front door.
You turned with a smile on your face to see James stood there, leaning against the doorframe, but before you could answer Lily pushed past him to pull you into a hug.
"Don't listen to him, he just wants to drink with Sirius," she told you as she squeezed you gently.
Laughing, you pulled James into a hug also. "If you're looking for your other half he's upstairs, still decorating the one bedroom."
James nodded at you and then kissed Lily on the check before heading up the stairs to look for your boyfriend.
"You two are early," you commented to Lily as you started on a pot of tea for the two of you.
She sighed, sitting down at the counter. "James was like a kid on Christmas wanting to see Sirius, I swear it's as if we never left Hogwarts."
You laughed but you couldn't deny the fact that Sirius had been the same all day. "It's as if they never get to see each other isn't it?"
"Always knew we couldn't keep them away from each other for long," she agreed as she took a mug from you. "I suppose it's a good job we're so close."
The two of you chatted together for a while longer, catching up but falling silent when you heard your boys laughing their heads off upstairs.
Rolling your eyes, you stood up and Lily followed suit, the two of you climbed the stairs and found James and Sirius flinging paint at each other.
As soon as the two of you reached the door it seemed as if you were fair game.
"Sorry about this love," Sirius apologised before he flicked a paintbrush towards you, covering your top – well one of his muggle band tops – in white paint.
You glared playfully at your boyfriend before you lunged straight for him, Lily occupied with James attacking her in the same fashion.
Sirius laughed as you managed to tackle him to the floor, you straddling him as you attempted to wrestle the paintbrush from his hands.
"You're getting it all over me!" you protested as you laughed.
He chuckled as he selfishly enjoyed the position, he'd ended up in. "Oh, come on love, just a bit of fun," he joked with you as he finally let go of the paintbrush.
You weren't expecting him to let go so you lost your grip, and the paintbrush went flying across the room, hitting James in the head.
Neither of you paid it any mind as Sirius wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you down to him so the both of you ended up lying on the floor in fits of laughter.
"So, this is what living together just us is going to be like?" you questioned as you rested your forehead against Sirius'.
He smiled up at you as one of his hands moved to rest on your cheek. "For the rest of our lives love."
