I couldn't sit patiently. I was somewhat healed and my brothers were here. I want to go out and look. My leg was jumping up and down.

"What's got you so worked up?" Sam asked.

"I'm fully healed. I want to go now, not be sitting here on my ass and wait for tomorrow to roll in." I said. Sam put his hands up.

"Okay, I think I over heard Rick and Daryl talking. It sounded like Daryl was going to search now." I looked at him.

"No surprise, Daryl is a hunter, just not our kind." Sam nodded and handed me my bat and blade.

"Be careful out there."

"You always were the one to be on my side in an argument." I smiled. He chuckled and walked back to the boys. I walked around looking for Daryl. I eventually found him and told him I was going.

"What ya got?"

"Like hell I'm going to give up my gun."

"Didn' ya put it down?"

"That's my extra gun. This," I showed him my custom Colt M1911A1. "I'm not giving it up." I said tucking it behind my back.

"Wha' else?" I showed him my angel blade and bat.

"The usual, now, we heading out or?" He nodded and we continued walking towards the forest.

We had walked out pretty far from the farm and we wandered into an open area with a run down looking house. I looked around.

"I don't hear any walkers around. Let's hope she's in there." He nodded as he took off his Crossbow and we walked towards the house.

"You got front I got back." I said as we approached it. I walked towards the side of the house and to the back. I saw the back door open. I took out my gun and pulled back the hammer and taking the safety off. I cautiously walked inside and checked inside. I heard the floor creak a lot which meant Daryl. I turned and saw him. I pointed to myself and upstairs. He nodded and I began going up the stairs.

I focused my ears for any sound. When I reached the top I looked through each of the rooms. I hadn't had any luck until I reached a bathroom. Despite its awful appearance I saw a hairbrush. I picked it up and inspected it closely. A few hair strands were stuck in it. Color: Yellow. A blonde. I put it back and noticed the wall. It had a carving. I traced my hand over it.

"S..." Sophia? I quickly made my way back downstairs and saw Daryl outside. I walked out back and he shouted Sophia's name.

"Daryl." He looked back.

"She was here. Not that long too." I looked around and spotted a bush. I tilted my head and walked to it, Daryl followed right behind. We bent down.

"Chereeoke." I said.

"Yea'."

"There's hope." I smiled. I put back the hammer and took the safety off before placing it on the ground and cutting off one of the flowers that were already bloomed. I held it in my hand careful not to harm it. I put my gun back.

"Come on, let's head back." He nodded as we stood up making our way back. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. We might be closer to finding her! I sighed and looked at Daryl.

"I'm going to give it to Carol. This might bring her high hopes."

We made it back eventually and we went to find Carol. We were told she was in the RV. We opened the door and walked inside we found her sewing. The whole RV looked more cleaned.

"Cleaned up. Wanted it to be for her." She said.

"For a second thought we were in the wrong place." I smiled softly and nudged Daryl. He placed a beer bottle on the table with a white goer in it. The bottle was his idea. Carol looked confused.

"A flower?" Daryl was a bit...shy?

"It's a Cherokee rose." I said.

"Story goes that when American soldiers were moving Indians off their land on the trail of tears, the Cherokee mothers grieved and cried so much, they lost their young ones along the way from exposures, disease, and starvation. Many disappeared, so the elders said a prayer." I looked at Daryl to say it.

"They asked for a sign to uplift the mothers' spirits, to give them strength and hope." I smiled and continued.

"The next day this beautiful rose started to grow where the mothers' tears fell."

"I'm not fool enough to think there's any flowers blooming for ma brother," I sat next to Carol as she wiped her tears.

"But...I believe this one bloomed for your little girl." She laughed a bit as tears kept if coming out. I hugged her.

"I promise we'll find her."

"Thank you..." I let go of her and smiled before standing up and walking towards the door.

"She's gon like it here." Daryl said before going out.
